I always thought being right on the edge of wheelspin from the get-go with stock stall converter would be do-able with Stage 2 turbos. Hopefully I'm not too far off the mark as I have RR600s on the way and was sorta hoping for this type of take-off.

I don't feel any difference during the gear changes in drive or sports mode. The ZF transmission in the G6E turbo was the same. It is only during the launch that the difference is noticed. Higher revs (3,000) at launch will allow higher boost/torque to be achieved which results, if you have tyres that can get the power/torque to the ground, to better 0-60' and 1/4 times.

Car back safe and sound

Didn't get to give it a proper run because of the wet roads and peak hour traffic here in Melb. Turbo seems to spool up very smoothly. Best of all no more smoke

The RBs definitely have some minor play in the turbine shaft (only a 1mm or so), so i'm pretty sure that was the cause of the smoking issue.

Will keep an eye on things and give a full report when I get a chance to give it a squirt.....
