That's kind of a shame. I'd have thought every manufacturer in the business made all the same standard sizes.

Seth you had an issue with speaker depth right? What was the story with that...and did the MBQ end up being the right fit?

we have 4 inch midranges. you can get 4 inch midranges from a few manufacturers.. just not in a component package other than MB Quart, Focal and Rainbow (I think). Other option is to do the BSW speaker upgrade kit but I'm told its not as much of an upgrade as it should be for the cost.

Yeah it wasn't letting the window roll down. Make sure you get shallow mount anything that goes in the doors - tweeters were ok. It could just be on the 1er though cuz the e92s were fine with the ones I had.

I wish my car was louder, too. BMW fitted nice dual exhaust tips on the left of my new X3 35i and it does sound very nice, but I always miss the low end thunder of my X5 4.4i (I know it was a V8 blah blah blah), which had dual exhaust tips on either side, something I gave up back in '07 for my 535 wagon--the only nice sound a muted thrashing of a twin-turbo I6 in a luxury people mover rather than the always menacing grumble of the 335. I didn't like that BMW thought there were BMW buyers who didn't want all the performance qualities of a BMW for a near $70,000 station wagon. The higher-than-X5 price point and the luxury-liner comfort without the always ready growl and purr from the inside were responsible for poor US sales, forcing BMW to discontinue it stateside last year.

I was thinking about an subtle Eisenmann exhaust setup on the X3 (they don't have it yet for the F25 and I don't want to spend the money right this second anyways) a little further down the road. I don't want it to really look different from the stock exhaust, but I'd definitely like some more attention when pulling away from a stop light.

What do you guys think?
