Ok Folks,
I have talked to JR. All is good, he's shipping the pipe and I'm shipping the ECU next week. Makes sense to me that they can't do all the ECUs at once. For anyone on this GB, I would suggest to get in touch with JR and get your pipe shipped and make arrangements for ECU delivery to them. Please also post your updates. Cheers. |

1) Will the car run with the new DP installed and stock ECU? I don't care if I get CEL's or whatever, but I just need it to drive to the install shop. TIA

Gentlemen, Please look at my post #1407 on page 64. I typed in word for word the paragraph from the RSW paperwork that we signed. Nada in there about EPA or "not meant for highway use", etc. It is a standard form that you sign for any work done there, very generic.

I went and bought an O2 sensor socket for the 22mm size. Now, I thought that if folks with experience (BB_cuda, TDIwyse, iaknown, 2deerwhistlers) and anyone else who has already gone through the downpipe install, can give their two cents. You know the worst is to get under a car and be missing a tool that you really need. Is this too long? 2.5" deep. Thanks a lot. |

Don't think you want to use a socket as the wiring is in the way. A good wrench should work. Just don't round the edges...

335 I spoke to my BMW master mechanic car can run w/o DPF but codes will ensue car will not go on safe mode but I have my doubts on this. I will play safe and wait for it to be programmed either the same day my programmer gets down here or next day Im not in a hurry plus I dont plan to do the job my friend will do it

Yozh, my socket was way shorter than that. It had a slot cut out on one side to be able to "feed over" the wiring above the sensor. I'm with TDI on first trying the 22 mm open end wrench. This didn't work on the back one though if you recall. My crows foot style socket is about 1" or 1.25" tall at most. I only needed it for breaking sensor loose and use the open end for re installation.
EDIT: Here is a picture of the tool I describe above. Last edited by BB_cuda; 07-18-2014 at 10:10 AM.. |

I had mentioned finding a piece of rubber on the floor after completely finishing the work. SO, of course it is found when i'm cleaning up the tools and getting the garage back to its normal disorganization rather than "middle of project" disorganization.
Can anyone tell me where this bumper goes please? I used scissor jacks to raise up passenger side of engine. I lifted it high enough that engine was nearly touching the passenger strut bar. After getting it up that high, I worried that I might be stressing the red inter cooler hose. Sorry, photos aren't the best. |

That looks like a tubing or flared nut wrench. Available in lots of places for those who don't want to make it. |
