I'm not even gonna try to polish that whole center section, I think clean and bright will be enough. Nobody is ever going to see it but me anyway so I can stop when I'm happy with the aesthetics. I think I'll use it as an excuse to get that media blaster cabinet I've been wanting, or at least hit it with the hand held blaster with some walnut shell or bead if that doesn't do it, use that for the middle and crevices and polish out the front and drivers side where you can actually see with the vanity cover off.

MILVS add like 10whp across the board if I remember correctly. I don't remember how it does other than it gives more valve lift

Really curious to see how the valve cover comes out all nice and shiny like itll look goood. If it wasnt for lifter tick I almost prefer the look of the engine cover off

I'm most likely not gonna mess with that, chasing power with this engine is marginal at best. The headers are prolly the biggest single thing, and I only did that cause I had to cut the manifolds off at the flange and well you know may as well lol. It's best just appreciated for what it is, and what it is was a motor trend pipe dream when I started wrenching.

I hope mebbe you and a few others, and my bro w/ all the bimmers who pushed me into it will see it uncovered, but beyond that I'll be running with the vanity cover on, if for nothing else but to keep it clean till I have someone I can show it off to. Knowing it's there is 90% of the value.

Drove it for 60 miles today and topped it off with half a quart of oil (though it wasn’t really full after the oil change 3kmiles ago and was above min today)

So I have a E92 LCI with the base stereo system. I managed to find a full logic 7 system with centre dash speaker mount, rear shelf and complete wiring loom etc. I’ve managed to change the front door speakers and will be changing the rears and subs today. Was just wondering if anyone had any guides (videos or step by step instructions) on how to rewire the system. I’ve been looking around online and can’t find much and will struggle without this 😅.

How'd the report look? I only did an alignment on my 335 one time at the dealer. What I noticed is that even though the car went in all green, they still moved the settings into the middle of the range. Which is different than Firestone, green means don't touch....

(p.s. on my lexus and wife's GM we have lifetime alignments so I've compared such as after hitting a pothole etc.--usually the settings are unchanged even a year later)

After seeing some crazy shit on FB its tempted me to get back into power mods after I do all the suspension work. N52s are a lot more fun than I thought they were. I've seen people running nitrous on these its ridiculous

I'd be slightly dissapointed if I didn't see the final result. I'm eager to see you hurry and get to it lol. Either way it should be pretty nice honestly.

Also, might be hitting your PMs soon about polishing. Hoping to pick up a bike for a cafe racer build

Maybe the power bug will bite but I'm thinking if it does I'll find a 335i to build. It *is* a fun engine, not the least of which is it's fun to work on, everything is accessible. I was watching a video of a dude showing off his new M340i and under the vanity cover it basically looks like someone dumped a bowl of spaghetti.

Not sure when I'll get to it, I have to get this rear suspension done first, maybe work on that in the basement when my garage gets too cold this winter. I'm ready to start on the rear tho, got my midships plastics and tunnel shields cleaned up, lowered the car off the quickjack, pushed it 3 foot forward so I have access to the rear and lifted it back up. There's something liberating about starting on them in this condition, there's no agonizing over whether I should replace dis or dat bushing or bearing. When they look like this they all must go lol.

Anything if I know about it I'll be happy to share. My skillz are feeble compared to some of the ppl I see out there, but I can hep you get it shiny

I feel you on that, my friend sold his 328 for a WRX. Everything about that car is fun, once you hit boost alls you want to do is make even more power lol. It made me want a 335 or a WRX even more. After months of him not having his 328 I let him drive my car and he instantly wanted another one as a daily

I pretty sure the M340i has the B58 right? It'd be a fun engine to build especially if you upgrade bits from the Supra. I remember hearing something about Toyota making a ton of tweaks to meet their satisfaction

Lmk how the rear end goes, this spring I think I'm going to try and complete whats left of the front and move onto the rear. Yours definitely looks like it could use some love! Also I wish you were closer, I'd pay to get my car looking like yours haha

I'm no perfectionist and your skills are way better than mine so shiny is all I need

For raw power nothing is gonna touch my modded 6.0 Powerstroke, and none of them will touch either of my bikes in a 1/4 mile so the power bug will have to try hard to make me mod up this N52. Like your buddy found out, it's good how it is and better is something else entirely.

Yes, it's a B58. This is the vid I saw. It looks awesome but also not like something I want to wrench on.

I'm not really a perfectionist either, just slightly OCD where I have to make it cleaner and shinier, not necessarily perfect. I'm big on getting stuff 80% better very quickly.

The last piece for my M3 suspension upgrades came today from ebay, a rear sway bar to match the front. Gave that a 10 minute polish and for something that'll never be seen I'm calling it good enough. I wish you were closer too wouldn't even need payment just be cool to hang with someone that's into the shine.

They finally got this out for me. Came out of an X3. She smells like old cigarettes and there’s quite a bit of grease. Gonna clean her up and strip all the extra crap off.

I'd probably drop the rear subframe, get it sand blasted & powder coated black.

You could always buy a heater buddy & a propane tank to heat the garage.

I could swear that's from an M series engine with the air distribution manifold for the pcv and the injector holes in the intake manifold instead of the cylinder head like the N52

Or I could get a pristine looking one from californey and an equally clean low mile 3.64 diff from Texas. It's getting M3 body and front diff bushings, and new Lemforders everywhere else.

I do have an electric heater out there, but I have to remember to unplug it when I use the heat gun or it's a trip to the basement breaker box.

I had just replaced both inner and outer tie rods on both sides at the front, so it was nowhere near close when I brought it the 5 miles to the shop that did it. In fact, it was so bad that the 4x4 (I swore it was just full time AWD and not capable of 100% in any direction, and after research, I was wrong) and brake lights came on (alignment shop reset them and they're still off after 100 or so miles). Tracks straight and the wheel is straight now, so I didn't screw up my tires. Phew. So I guess my experience can't really be compared, I'd say.

Yep you’re right. I’ll call Monday, receipt says it’s out of an 07-10 x3 which would be N52, but this is def an M54
