When this started, you shoulda seen trying to get a 4G hotspot. 5G all day long because it cost 5X. Another oddity? RAM mounts for vehicle mounts be it forklifts, tractcors, cop cars, etc. Certain android tablets. Stuff one normally thinks can come next day, takes 4 months. You can't exactly ask a forklift driver to hold it in his hands and drive into a freezer, the mount will be here in a few months

Once again sorry if it's your employer, but on a personal level? the USPS has gone buck wild with gift cards and checks gone missing, deliveries vaporizing, etc.

I received my Christmas present to me. Some go-faster parts that I ordered Nov 30 just arrived. Oh, and a couple of marker lights to make it look a little better too.

The reason it's stuck in Ogdensburg is because before covid madness closed the border, I would have anything I bought from US sellers shipped to the UPS Store there, then drive down and pick it up in person (it's about a 45 minute drive from here, and not having stuff cross the border saves SO much on shipping/duties it isn't even funny!). I bought the diff from an Ebay seller before the border was closed, but by the time it was delivered to the UPS Store, we were in full-blown lockdown... so, now I have to wait until this crap is over, and go pick it up!

I'm still planning on headers and a suspension refresh this spring, haha!! I plan on keeping my E90 long term.

Cheers!
If it wasn't for bad timing I'd have no timing at all, hope it's on the way soon. Sounds like we are on the same page brother, I can't find anything new I'd like to drive, so I'm counting on keeping this 330i until I croak.

I did my headers the other week, today I'm finishing the disassembly of the rear. Got a mountain of parts to clean up then it'll be time for that new subframe and diff to go back in place along with new Bilsteins, M3 wishbones and guide rods, ECS trailing arms and Manzo adjustable toe links.

Had my 335i up on jack stands for 10 days since I'm a slow worker and it's cold in my garage. Finished up diff fluid change, transmission filter/pan and fluid, vrsf downpipes, vrsf 7.5 inch intercooler, front bumper finishing rods and plastic grills change and mhd stage 2+. Got everything on black friday sales!

Now that I'm stage 2+, I'm noticing a lot of waste gate rattle. Anybody have success with the 8mm washer trick from this thread, post 26? https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...=890145&page=2

Is the lower grille mesh miss-orientation done on purpose or incidental?

Well, yesterday I had the blower wiring recall done. And I found out that I bent two wheels hitting a pothole! Yay! So, so mad. The city will probably pay for at least some of it but I gotta front the cash. They should be repairable but in case they aren't I started a WTB thread.

Oh and now a headlight went out so I changed both to Philips Vision Plus or whatever and it's a massive difference. I'm assuming the old bulbs were just dying. What a pain in the ass to do... My hands couldn't do it with the wheels on so I took them off.

I have no idea what size washers I used on my 335i but it definitely helped, just takes up the slack of the worn out part of the shaft without slowing the wastegate by adjusting it. I did it on the front one

My mom, a former attorney, mentioned that some cities have that kind of thing set up. So I called, and sure enough, it exists here. Worth looking into for future reference.

I'm gonna revise my diagnosis that a bad wheel bearing was causing my wheel speed sensor error. I'm sure the bearing is shot, but the sensor error probably has more to do with whoever built this nest over my wheel well and chewed thru the sensor wires.

There's also a connector in there that doesn't have any wires coming out, does anyone know what this is? Is it unused for some option I don't have or some kind of sensor itself. It looks like a connector to nowhere but it has the other side on connected to it, but nothing (not even chewed) coming out.

Ain't critters wonderful??? I'd love to know what delicious substance wire manufacturers mix in to the plastic that makes rodents love to chew it so much. If only they would use a bit of poison as well... we can only dream.

If it wasn't for the fact that kids like to chew stuff too there'd be a fortune to be made in the poison wire biz I pulled that wheel liner down and that glob of fuzz fell on my head I knew it wasn't gonna be pretty in there.

About five years ago, I was in Nashville shooting a large project and hit the world’s largest pothole on an interstate. It blew a tire and put a bubble on another. I filled out paperwork and their final comment was, “This is the first we’ve heard of it, if we had been notified of the pothole we would have paid the claim”...coughing and saying BS.

Drivers side. It's not the wheel speed sensor or the leveling sensor, those are what's chewed.

Same for me. My favourite body style is the pre-LCI E90. When my 2008 328i got written off in the summer of 2019, I specifically went looking for a nice '06 6MT, Sport Package, 4 door, 330i. It took me a few months, and going to another city to find her, but I am happy, and like you, plan on driving her til I drop, so to me spending money on her is an investment in my happiness, and worth every penny.

It's the same with my 2005 Harley Night Train. She's 15 years old, with over 185,000 miles on her. I bought her new, and have spent those 15 years upgrading and customizing her, as well as repairing when needed. I do most of my own wrenching on her (and a fair bit on the 330i as well ) and know her inside and out. I've probably spent twice what she cost on mods, repairs, etc... and do not regret a single penny laid out. I plan on riding her into the sunset!

Cheers!

LOL we're living parallel lives on different sides of the border. The only vehicle I own that I bought new is a '91 Sportster which has few of it's original parts left, and a '93 Electra Classic modded down to the 96" S&S stroker mostly done by me. Some day hopefully I'll be equipped for engine machining work too.

I also specifically sought out a '06 330i, this is a car that you can feel was at the crest of the wave between where making a real driving machine and making an un-diy-able, emissions complaint boring disconnected box. It's also around the time where everyone started driving a SUV, and if you asked for a manual at the rental counter they'd look at you like you were from outer space. The '06 had one brief year as the top of the line 3 series, the very first year of the E90 and the apex of N/A engine design. After that it was neutered into the 328, and forced induction and a slew of new emissions requirements took it's place at the top, then dropping the MT because a.) they couldn't make them emission complaint b.) they have too much power for a normal clutch to handle c.) they have too much power for ppl who don't know how to drive.

As you say, it's an investment in my happiness, and disassembling a 330i and putting it back together with all new parts and a bunch of upgrades makes me happier than anything they have sitting on the lot today.

Great minds think alike, brother! I agree with everything you've stated!

What part of Jersey are you in? I have friends in Clifton (and in NYC as well ), and get down there every now and then. Be cool to grab a frosty beverage with you some day.

BTW, this is Reaper, my Harley.

Cheers!

Reaper is badass, I wish I got something like that instead of the Electra. I had the sportster since it was new, it's all worked but I bought the electra for the wife to be comfy and built it up and she doesn't even really like it cause she has to climb on instead of just throwing a leg over. I may trade it for a softtail or lowrider.

I'm on the other side of jersey that nobody knows about. It's the big woodlands between Philly and Atlantic City, Wharton State Forest, little known fact it's the largest unbroken piece of forest land on the east coast. I live here and I didn't know that for the longest time. When this thing is running I'd be up for a road trip north to clink a few w/ you

Awesome! You're on. Hopefully the border will be reopened this year!

I have no problem coming all the way to your area. I don't think I've been there yet, and a 500 miler is a nice day in the saddle for me. Plus, some of my best biker friends live near Scranton. Win, win, WIN!

Cheers!
