I have no problem coming all the way to your area. I don't think I've been there yet, and a 500 miler is a nice day in the saddle for me.

Cheers!

Hope so soon, it's beyond absurd at this point. I'll refrain from political rants but you can prolly imagine what I think of all this. If you want to come this way I'll show you around my riding roads thru the forest and one of the few watering holes that hasn't (hopefully) closed by then.

This is where I laugh when ppl say things like M3 bushings will make the ride harsh. Compare it to riding to Sturgis on a Sportster lol. My 500 mile days on the bike are mostly over tho, that's why I need this 330i with the headers and the 3.64 diff to pick up the slack

Edit: Saw your edit, Scranton is a cool town, love the train museum there. I'm from south of there in PA originally.

YES!! I LOVE finding new rural/mountain/country roads to ride!

And, yeah, I think we both have the same view about this covid crap!

Even the harshest BMW is pillowy compared to a Sporty! Reaper is well set up, and she's comfy, but driving the 330i is like floating on a cloud by comparison.

I love nothing more than long, full, days in the saddle. The only time it gets a bit rough is when I'm in a rush to cover a long distance, so I hammer down the interstate at 80 mph for hours, up in the wind behind those 16" apes (never owned a windshield, and I like to push my gas stops, so I'll stretch the stops out to around 200 miles between them ), and can't really relax and just enjoy the ride... but even that RULES!!!

Now, I wanna jump in the saddle and go for a ride, but Reaper's away for her winter sleep

Let's stay in touch, and keep our fingers crossed for this spring.

Cheers!

Up in Scranton is where the beautiful mountain roads are, that was our vacation a couple years ago on the Electra, we been all over the east (mostly on the sporty) and trailered it further a few times. I don't like the windshield, I can't get used to how that big bike feels in any way after a zillion miles on the sporty. I won't blame it all on the wife I'm seizing up after a couple hundred now too so I'm eyeing the car more and more for long trips. Around here is former ocean floor, very flat with just a hint of hills, but lots of nice twisty pavement and close to zero traffic, and I can put you up in my RV if you wanna poke around. Cross my paws as I say to the dog.

Had my water pump and tstat replaced today. Just for information, here are pics of my new and old ones. Both pumps (original and new from FCP) are Continental/VDO and the new tstst is Wahler but not sure the original one. Manufacture date of my old is 09/14/2011 and new is 05/15/2020.

So my headlight access panel screw things were chewed up pretty badly when I tried changing them yesterday (I didn't do it). Since you can't replace the retainers, just ordered a pair of new access panels. That should do it.

Drivers side. It's not the wheel speed sensor or the leveling sensor, those are what's chewed.
Ah yes, that would be for the factory alarm. The siren bolts on three studs up in there

Been getting a misfire on Cylinder 3 at high RPM WOT - Swapped coil 2 & 3 over and plugs 1 & 3 to ascertain which bit is knackard (injector/Plug/Coil).

Have multiple logs but don`t know how to read them so i`m thinking this is the easiest method.

Next post will be me replacing one of those 3 ^^

Twisty roads with little traffic is pretty heavenly!

Thanks for the RV stay offer. I look forward to taking you up on it!

Cheers!

It’s only thin in that one spot, where there’s a small stream. The rest of the lake is at least 15” thick

I figured it was some missing option but couldn't imagine what would be sharing space with the mice up there over the wheel well. Thanks colorado!

Car runs better now that the plugs are done. Dropped a screw, nowhere to be found, but it definitely didn't get anywhere that could hurt anything. I'm guessing it landed where I couldn't find it and bounced out on the test drive after I gave up looking, so went to the dealership and got a new one. This followed me home somehow...

Installed a new battery today. Old one was installed on 03/2014, so it lasted for a good long while!

I notice oil on the top section of the plug. Maybe a failing valve cover gasket let oil pool there. As you removed the plug it got onto the threads.

I'm assuming it's the spark plug seal or the cover itself. I'll replace the cover and all the gaskets. And probably that plug again, maybe the ignition coil.

My biggest peev with the car was the base sound system, it really just killed me inside on long drives listening to it. Was able to stumble upon a used Musicar Stage 3 system that came with Morel Hybrid 402s, Jehnert XE 200 underseats, Arc Audio XDi 1200.6 amp, and a Match DSP. I added Audiofrog GS42s in the rear. By far the most tedious project I have done so far, now I need to button everything back up and tune the DSP.

Replaced the coolant tank and cap, upper radiator hose, upper expansion hose, intake air filter (also deleted the carbon filter), cabin air filter, and new coolant + bleed procedure. Got it all buttoned up and let it run, no leaks. Drove it around for about 5-7 miles, got home and as I was rolling into my driveway there was some steam/smoke from hood. Parked and checked, looks like there is some coolant leaking? It looked more green than blue. Some was on radiator, however most was on belly pan passenger side. Unfortunately, I put the belly pan back on before the drive.

Going to check it out this morning. Hoping it is not the radiator, I've read some threads of possible washer fluid tank, hoping that's all lol.

Could it be those ear type clamps? I haven't done my 335i but on cars with the other type of pinch clamp, I've found the need to reposition (I reused and replace was recommended)....

edit upon looking online it seems with our cars everything snaps then clips in place....hmmm
