I removed the belly pan to find not as much coolant leaked as I had initially thought last night. I double checked all connections/hoses and no signs of any leaks. The coolant tank was as dry as when I installed it on the outside, and still full of coolant on the inside. I ran the car and looked for leaks, after about 10 minutes the radiator slowly started to steam again. I am at the conclusion that when the McDonald's straw (upper expansion hose) blew on me a week or so ago that all the coolant ran down the front/back of the radiator and fan.
It sat there and once the radiator warmed up, it was "burning" off the old coolant. I tried to spray the radiator down and also clean up the area around the front kidney grills, etc. Some will have to continue to burn off as I don't think I was able to fully flush it all out of the fins. I'm just glad there wasn't anything else to replace

Started cleaning up the axle carriers, I blasted some of the thickest rust with the portable sandblaster, got grit all in my hair and down my back I really want that abrasive blaster cabinet lol. Finished them up with the wire wheel. Need another pass at the crevices with the blaster then be ready for IDK what. I'm thinking about trying leaving them bare and treating with RPM but I don't have any long term experience with it and this is a hard do-over, it's pretty obvious that paint doesn't hold up either as there wasn't much left the rust didn't get so maybe not much harm trying.

More stuff today, retrofitting a sport wheel. Turns out the airbag connector that goes to the clock spring is different. Tried switching the clip, looks like the whole thing is different. So now here I am repinning the sport airbag harness to my old connector. The pins are also different in the fact that its a tad tighter making it a royal pain in the ass to fit the pins. Hopefully it doesn't explode
Update: It did not explode

Nothing but ordered a few more parts for mine. Ordered a Pre-LCI M-Sport front bumper kit but will need to wait months for deliver. ARG oh well it's winter and who wants to tear it up.

Well, today, nothing, but yesterday, I bought a valve cover, gaskets, seals, and oil. I forgot to buy a filter, so I gotta do that before Tuesday when I get my oil changed.

Oh, I noticed a nasty clunk coming from the back end suddenly. Was super freaked out for a moment until I realized my breaker bar is back there and sure enough, the Velcro broke loose.

Thx, I think you're right that would hold up as good as paint can. I've painted some things with exhaust header paint, that's probably similar to grill paint. It holds up well but like all paint once it starts to go theres no cleaning it up other than stripping it. I want to try the RPM, it would be great if it would hold up as bare metal that looks the best and it can be reapplied with a brush and heat gun. I'm also looking at getting a Eastwood powder coat kit and a large toaster oven, my next step for anything like this that I'm tempted to paint will go straight to powder coat.

That is BS. I was always taught the left lane was the "passing lane" but around her ppl just consider it the "other lane". Technically you're supposed to keep right UNLESS you're passing, but it actually looks like everyone is playing frogger, geeking down the fast lane and weaving and passing wherever they want. I've never seen any of it enforced, as long as you're not speeding.

Joking... I was joking! I certainly didn't mean to nudge you over the edge of sanity. Besides, don't you think the gold will clash with the silver paintwork? Chrome and silver would work much better together IMO.

I don't know about you but I don't want my car to look like a Christmas decoration. Now if you wanted to give me a big chunk of actual gold and a big chunk of actual silver I wouldn't say no.

Well, they get the BMW ones there anyway. FCP sells a fair amount of the OE units.
