Good lord, I know the feeling.

You will not be disappointed in that 3.64. So much win in here.

It's a blessing and a curse as you know. It's nice to meet all the like minded peeps on here tho

I put aFe catted headers on it, but it's the 3.64 I'm counting on as the secret ingredient for a back road burner.

I did not make a build thread, I've just been posting in this thread. I didn't even know I was doing a build really till I looked up and found myself in the middle of it. Front suspension is all new and upgraded, oil pan gasket, all the accessory belt items, water pump, thermo, radiator, hoses, low miles power steering rack and pressure hoses, lots of decrusting and polishing. Now I'm homing in on the practically whole frigging car being new.

Thanks, I should do better writeups of what I'm doing and put them in a thread as you suggest if for nothing but so I don't forget what I've done. I've only had the car a little over 2 months now, project is kind of becoming a blur.

I think you've done more in two months than most have done in years. I applaud you good sir. I agree with the above you should definitely do a build thread with everything you've done with pics. Also hows the catted headers?

Thanks brother The headers went in fine, I replaced the studs and it all went back together fine until I got to the O2 sensors I think you saw that thread? I have such an early E90 that even aFe never saw a car with the o2 connectors above the manifold. I "solved" it by putting one connector in it's bracket where it still fit and zip tying the other to the back corner of the manifold heat shield. I don't like and I bought a longer sensor from 5 series that will fit but i don't even know if it's compatible so I'll get any other codes cleared before I try messing with that.

Sounds like a lot of work to get them to work properly lol. What prod date is yours? I wonder if I'd run into the same problems as you.

I can't remember if I've seen the thread you're referring to if I'm being honest

The car got a 3 stage manifold swapped in place of the original single stage, so more power and torque both on the low end and top end thanks to the variable runner length. The bimmerlabs flash with it's more aggressive settings coupled with that, brings the car to the 130s 255hp/220lbft.

Do you notice the difference? I have a 328i and 330i and both have 3 stage intake. I feel like the 330i difference is torque.

150k on this old xi, in the front

Been chasing one clunk for over a year now lol. Started a couple weeks after installing the B12 kit. I've replaced the end links with adjustables, tension struts, and ball joints. Can't replicate it without driving it, and it most notably does it at low speeds going straight or turning left. Turning right at full lock gets rid of a lot of the clunk aside from the new one

When I have time I'm going to check sway bar bushings and replace the end links with meyle hd to see if it'll help

Any chance it's a mount?

Again hope you don't mind me mentioning another brand of car etc. But on my wife's GM SUV I knew the front struts were leaking etc. So I had a shop install Bilstein B6s front and rear, new sway bar end links, bushings, and I figured after all that this creak/clunk sound would go away. NOPE! lol Had my wife stand on the brakes, and hit the accelerator, and watch. Engine was rocking. I did 2/4 mounts myself and now it's gone. I didn't do the rear or trans as the web said the front and top are usually the culprits.

I guess the key to mounts is that you hear it not moving at all, standing still, and giving it some accelerator while standing on brakes...

Bought all Mobil 1 stuff for an oil change happening tomorrow. Ok I did all that yesterday (it's 9 AM here), but that was less than 24 hours ago so I'm gonna count it.

Fitted a new phone holder then took my 320d out today for the first time in two weeks. Drove for a mile before a big yellow battery symbol appeared along with a warning that the battery was critically low. Hopefully a lengthy drive to work tomorrow will charge it up.

According to realOEM, there’s apparently a 02/2004 build 330i (E90) running around somewhere - not that I’ve ever personally seen one!

To keep the thread on track: drove the E90 after a week of sitting in the garage to drop another BMW off - the E31 6 speed is going into an 8er specialist to have its electrical and drivetrain issues sorted out.

You know, that was going through my head too

Just cause we're BMW here doesnt mean we shame everything else Youll see me driving my 330 with a Mopar hat on

Ill have to try that trick you mentioned, cause I know my mounts are shot. Can feel the whole engine at idle lol. I just didn't think they were that bad but maybe they are

You will have the same issue, there are a number of things that are listed as "up to 10/2005" or "from 10/2005". You can look over top of the exhaust manifolds if your O2 sensor connectors are clipped to the heat shield there it's old style, if they wrap around the engine to the fuel rail and clipped there it's later style. Your intake manifold as it relates to CCV hoses and the hoses themselves were changed at that date too.

I just noticed something odd, a snapshot of ISTA that I printed when I first got it working and had the car powered up says prod date 03/05 but a offline printout on ista by entering the SN I'm looking at now says 03/06. I would think the live readout would be correct, and I know I have the earlier parts, wonder what the discrepancy in ISTA is.

Yes pretty noticeable upgrade everywhere in the rev range. I would pop up inpa and test the disa valves in your 330. If they're the originals they might not even be working aswell as they should and the difference could be even bigger than you currently see between your two cars

Replaced the trashed original under-hood insulation pad. Looks purty now.
