This is awesome! Let me know if you get E91 access.

haha I ordered my car and it bugged me that I ordered a space gray 335i with sport package, and online it showed black sapphire without, and auto.

Back then it was harder to relate that what one saw online, is only a front end, to something else. So the 800# assured me your car is space gray and manual, etc. I would call back and ask them to read the config to me every few days hahahahahahahahahaha Because I thought if the car showed up and is black sapphire, it would be disappointing that the wrong car got produced.

Even the dealership told me that web portal is junk, you're not seeing what we do, your car is exactly as we discussed....

What can I make an analogy to, today? the USPS tracking website. A package can go from NYC, to Phila., to NJ, then disappear for 2 weeks, then show up in Phila. again, and nothing. And it's actually on your doorstep without ever showing delivered. There has to be a "secret" database that has everything accurately tracked....

I've ordered shock absorber for my rear suspension and bought a floor jack to do replace myself. Looks as easy as an oil change.

Over the christmas break got a few things done on my brothers 328.

Previously we had trimmed the front strut stop to drop the front ~6mm and pulled the alignment pins.

After that we did a secondary cat delete to match up with the 330i catback. Much louder than the silent stock 328 but still a OEM+ sound.

Refinished the headlights/fogs and put in a UV clear plus paint matching the bumper reflectors.

Also found some 330 front calipers plus pretty much brand new pads/rotors so we grabbed those for pretty much pennies. Its a nice bonus that the 330 caliper is aluminum vs the 323/325/328 being steel.

Added some led door projectors (BMW part 63312468386) and red footwell lights to my e93.

Gotta say, the footwell lights are SO MUCH dimmer irl, you hardly notice them unless you're actively looking at your feet, don't know why they seem so bright in the pictures.

Also, can't choose which door courtesy light I want to keep, so for now it's M on the left, BMW on the right. Might even keep them this way. Or might order 63312469631 for even MORE choices.

The car got a 3 stage manifold swapped in place of the original single stage, so more power and torque both on the low end and top end thanks to the variable runner length. The bimmerlabs flash with it's more aggressive settings coupled with that, brings the car to the 130s 255hp/220lbft.
Do you notice the difference? I have a 328i and 330i and both have 3 stage intake. I feel like the 330i difference is torque.
Yes pretty noticeable upgrade everywhere in the rev range. I would pop up inpa and test the disa valves in your 330. If they're the originals they might not even be working aswell as they should and the difference could be even bigger than you currently see between your two cars
Hmm intresting. Can disa valves be replaced? The gearing is long in my 330i. You got new ones for your 1 series?

I see ads for DISA valves all over Facebook for some reason. Given that, I'd say they're replaceable.

Installed my new headlight access covers. Was instantly reminded why I took the wheels off last time.

Yeah there's plenty of options I usually prefer to rebuild the oem ones back to working condition but there's plenty to go around. Get a 3.91 differential for that car from an xi automatic

Got an alarm control module (read: not an alarm retrofit kit) for Christmas. My mom thought she was buying the whole alarm kit but got just the module- no big deal, as the module is the majority of the cost.

Haven't coded it yet, don't have the siren or the hood switch, but went ahead and installed the ultrasonic module (which is the control module) into the car tonight. Took about two minutes, all easy to use clips, no tools.

Was happy to see that the clown nose actually functions without coding. Of course it does the fast flashes to indicate an issue during arming, but then it settles back to the blip every few seconds that it's supposed to do when working properly. I'll probably pick up the rest of the components in a week or so.

Turned out to be a big ordeal for her to find that module online. Got my serial from the dealer, found the cars info, and managed to find the correct one on FCP. Despite driving an M235i she's not a super technical car person...am quite impressed at the effort, full kit or not.

Built a redneck blast cabinet to finish cleaning up my metal parts. Used a couple of boxes, a piece of plexiglass and some duct tape. Filled my portable blaster with play sand after running it thru a strainer to remove the chunks. Attached my shopvac to the side for dust collection and started blasting. It worked great except that I don't have enough electric service to run my compressor and shopvac at the same time without tripping the breaker so had to keep shutting one or the other off as I worked. Got decent results, even tho it wasn't the most convenient setup.

Final result after treating with RPM (Rust Prevention Magic). It darkens the metal somewhat, whether it's magic or not remains to be seen. I like the look of bare metal, but holy moly does it rust up fast. After sandblasting and burnishing with the wire wheel I heated them in the oven to 180 degrees (thankfully at the point in my relationship where mrs. jake doesn't even roll her eyes anymore) you can already see a powder rust forming on them. This RPM has worked on other things I've tried it on so far, axle carriers will be a true test tho.

Sylvania makes a kit with a UV clear coat. I didn't want to paint on clear and I've used many other good kits like 3M and alike. They work well but you have to wax monthly otherwise it comes back.

This kit took some more time(I removed off car to do it perfect) and It comes with a lifetime fading warranty apparently

The polishing is the easy part. I haven't found any sealants that keep them clear for more than a year. I think I will try a vinyl cover next spring.

My vote would be, get rid of it all. Just go with regular led bulbs. No red, no rice BMW or M lights.

AlpineE93, I agree they look rice. I tried the smoked corners on my E46 and quickly went with clears. If you want an upgrade, I always look to the M Series which is the "standard". Remember the E46 M3 CSL, that is what we should be striving for as far as esthetics and performance.

Is it possible that the oil sensor read always FULL , even if its not ? Anybody got this issue yet?

I'm only asking, since I own the car I did 1 oil change (thanks covid), about 6000km, never topped it , and the gauge always reads full. It has mileage 256k km, 160k miles, doubt this engine wont burn oil significantly even after 6000 km.

I also start to hear the lifter, which Ive never notice before. But it might only because I'm using the car once a week and its cold outside.
