I have a appointment tommorow at 10 am for fuel pump issue.
Does anyone know if i will be getting the newer update 30.2? Also would this affect SSTT or JB3 and detect it somehow after i get updated? Off course ill take it off before i bring it in.

He had also not heard of the new 31, so I am not sure if it is a ghost like RB says or what. He did say they would do it as soon as it came in tho--no questions asked......

I just picked my car up yesterday from a fuel pump issue (among others) and they updated me to 30.0.2...

Do you have any tunes on your car? Does anyone know if the new 30.2 has no conflicts with the tunes out such as SSTT+jb3+v3? Thanks

Guys if I were you i would wait to get anything fixed till V31 is out in the US. If it just came out in EU like last week , it will probably take couple more weeks for the US.

Dam after reading like 20 threads bout the "lag" issue im so confused. Ok nvm so apparently 30.2 did almost nothing for the car. v31 did improve the lag. Guess gonna wait a bit.

And if you can hold off, do wait for confirmation of v31 (E89X-08-09-515, per Pavel's sheet). I'm kind of peeved that I went in too early.

It's getting ugly again. Damn you BMW. So I submitted a question to my dealership after reading everyone's posts about v31 not being availabe here. This was their reponse after I asked if v31 was in their shop and ready to install. "We can not install software as a request. Software update is only performed if there is a "verifiable" complaint with the vehicle." This WILL be resolved as I already called my BMWNA rep and left a message. Keep in mind my SA over at the dealership already made the appointment and said there was no issue upgrading. Why can't anything just go smoothly?
Also, he did not say that v31 was not available so there is hope!! |

Do you have the SM on your side, along with your SA? If you do, you shouldn't have problems. My SM knows more about my issues than my SA, so I'm sure (ha, I say that now) that he'll push to get me updated if a fix truly is out. If not, I'm not beyond pulling a RBBMW and screaming at them in front of all of their customers. Hell, I'll pay FedexKinkos $100 to print out some big vinyl banners bashing my dealer, and hang them on bridges all around town. I don't even want to think about that...it gets my blood going too much. Suffice it to say, it will be all out war if they hesitate on updating me when I know it's available and make an appointment. I love following this thread. So many updates throughout the day...each post one tiny tiny step closer to our resolution, one way or another. I'm going to go nuts this Friday and weekend when I won't be able to follow the thread too well. Getting Lasik so I'll have to close the ol' eyes and give em a rest...i.e. not staring at the forum for hours. |

I truly hope Prof3ssor has good news to share on Thursday. My SF did get an email indicating v.31 arrived in NJ (BMW Corporate HQ) last week, he will contact me when it arrives in Socal, which he is told should be anyday now. He is interested in the outcome of this issue and does read this thread. His contact at BMWNA did tell him the lag fix did not make it on v.31 but would be on v.32 due in Dec. If this is true, it could mean the lag fix did not make on the USA (EPA?) version of v.31.

I think you have to ask for it. The sheet I got was just from their regular writeup system and didn't have any details other than "programmed vehicle with software version 30.0.2" and "reprogrammed /encoded car with software 30.0.2".

I received my car mid June and I'm having the same lag issue. It's good to see that I'm not losing my mind. My car has two speeds at stop signs: Grandma slow and hauling ass at 6 mpg.
I'm also having issues with my alignment (car keeps pulling right even after two alignments so I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow at 9:30. The service associate was a little quick confirming that they had v31 software upgrades. He said that he "would take care of it" I'll post an update after getting the car back. |

So I have been going back and forth and this was the last e-mail I got back from the manager. "The BMWNA tech rep will be here this week. I'll ask and let you know." I will call my BMWNA tomorrow and insist she contacts the BMWNA tech rep and authorizes this. Keep in mind though this is the Stig that drove my car and said it is performing just fine. So, the update is in NJ and the dealer does have it. Now I just have to jump through hoops to get this installed. It sounds like all of you will have to do the same so get ready to go to war. It makes no sense why they would not release and install an update that is supposed to fix and correct issues with our car. We will see what happens but we are close guys and it seems there is just one more hurdle to get over.

I finally called BMW NA and let them know my thoughts. I walked him through finding the phrase we've quoted many times in this thread about eliminating turbo lag altogether. I told him if they can't fix it they'll be buying it back from me. He didn't flinch at that - merely mentioning he wasn't sure of the process. They'll be in contact with me hopefully tomorrow.
I'm with you Cobu (and others) - if they don't fix the lag, they will have my car back and I'll get back to the (R)S4 dreams I've been drooling over for over a year now...

Why hasn't anybody filed a smalls claims action against BMW yet or taken them to arbitration if that is available? It sounds like some of you are at a dead end already. What are you waiting for if you don't mind my asking?
I will file a small claims action this week if they return my car and tells me there is nothing wrong with it or don't fix it correctly and tell me it's fixed. Simple as that! I doubt BMW will want to pay over a grand to pay a local law firm to defend a small claims action in court for them when the solution is simple and cheaper and less riskier. Their exposure is much more in my eyes if I end up filing a small claims action. Promises to do something months off in the future doesn't cut it for me. |
