If you have meth installed, you could try running the 93 oct map and run a lot of logs to ensure it running safe. Its probably safe to say a proper meth set up will more than over the 2ish octane difference between 91 gas and the 93 oct map.

There is only speculation on what maps will come out when. Cobb has indicated they will work on meth maps, but its all guesses on the timing.

Yes, you can run a pwm system with a 100% stock car and a flash.

Aquamist carries a kit. Try howerton engineering, they have the aquamist kit modified to run on the n54.

Got my AP today, and of course, with my luck, my ROM isn't supported. How long does it usually take for Cobb to update the firmware? Hate having over 700 bucks sitting in a box not being used.

Best to call them and ask them instead of asking random third parties for an estimate when they don't even work for Cobb...

Geez, thanks for the very useful post. I did call them and asked. Just wanted to know what other people had experienced.

Doesn't matter what other people have experienced in the past... Priority levels on projects change all the time and only they can tell you what the current estimate is based on the current 135i priority.

All I saw was people saying that Cobb said that, never actually saw Cobb say it first hand.

Yeah neither do I (to them), but I was referring to adding the DP coding to stage 1... This is the first I've heard of this so didn't know if they mentioned whether it would follow stage 2 or would be a quick fix. If it's after stage 2 then it doesn't matter anyway lol.

Rob shot me an email saying stage 2 will be ready at the end of summer. Hopefully it will be sooner than that. Low and mid range power is great but I feel like power drops off too soon in this warmer weather.

With load-based tuning, there is absolutely no reason why power would drop in any way, shape or form in warmer weather. When you're targeting absolute boost targets it would be pretty obvious though.

Personally, I prefer the load-based tuning approach, as long as there are ceilings in place.

just ran the 1/4 mile last week with just Cobb stage 1 93 octane.

ran my best time 13.391@107.86

my friend with jb4 ran his best time around 13 flat. i forgot his trap speed but he also has the dual cones and FMIC as well.

overall not bad for just a stage 1 Cobb. cant wait for stage 2

I also thought about this and you are right but i do notice some performance difference compared to winter temps vs summer. It could be possible that although the tune is targeting load, it still takes the car longer to achieve that load due to non ideal conditions or not being able to sustain the requested load due to turbo limitations? (high temps, heat soak, humidity etc..)

Its way easier for the car to hit and sustain 13psi during the winter while now the car is constantly hitting 15-16psi under the same map.

Search... It's even posted in this thread, from Cobb this is their priority list:

1. Get 2007 335/135 out of beta
2. Get Stage 2 out
3. Get ATR out (self tuning software)
4. N55 support

Cobb does not quote dates. This is smart on their part, they are not going to release something until it's ready, and they can't for tel the future to see when it's ready. So if you are waiting for N55 support then once the ATR software comes out they will start working on the N55...

All this is listed in the BMW section of the Cobb Tuning Forums on their site too BTW.

Warmer weather will rob cars of performance regardless.

Devas...ask them on their forums... I haven't heard any word from Cobb themselves on requirements; only speculation from people like us. That would be a good question for them

Or, I'm heading there today at 3pm to strap my car to their Dyno, I can ask them then . But remember the real decision makers on that topic are in Austin and not up in Plano where I'll be.

Yea good point, cause a lot of people just say basic bolt on, but like the dual cone intakes, they aren't effective with the Cobb Tune.
