I recently picked up a pre-LCI E91 for a daily driver - loving it so far. The panoramic sunroof sealed the deal for me, but unfortunately my very opinionated 2-year old daughter won't let me open it while she's in the car Oh well. It's a 325xi, I'm going to try the AA tune followed by the 3 stage intake manifold upgrade. Other than that the hope is to leave it "stock". I'm currently lowered on KW V1s and rolling on 19" BBS CHs:

I also have a Hellrot red E36 so dest's 330d Msport is my favourite so far.

Cheers
Nice to see some CH on a wagon! what are the spec of the wheels and how much did you lower the car?

Thanks guys! I love the look, we'll see how I feel when the snow comes...

As for the ride, it's a subjective question so it's a little hard to answer. But comparing it to other lowered cars I've owned, the KW V1s are surprisingly good. The ride is firm but not too harsh or too jarring. There still seems to be plenty of suspension travel for most bumps I encounter. It's a good compromise over the standard Sport suspension to me.

But I really haven't had it for that long or had the chance to compare it to other coilover setups. So I'd defer to others for a more detailed review. There are some good reviews posted in other threads (for example here and here). Best bet if you're thinking about it is to get out to a meet and ask someone to take you for a spin.

Thanks! It's a square setup, 19x8.5" all around. I believe the offset is ET35 (would need to double-check). There's a 20mm spacer on the back.

I'm not sure exactly how much it's lowered, but I'd guess 1.5" or so? You can barely get a finger in the back between the tire and fender.

There's a good chance I'll end up raising it a hair and possibly using a smaller spacer too, but I'll get some more seat time with it first.

Looks great! I think I gonna put 20mm spacers on mine make the final offset as ET25 on 9.5J in 18s. Hopefully I can get my coilovers sorted soon when I get time.

That's a quick turn round. I just ordered some lemforder mounts for mine, hopefully they are around with some other bits next week.

I just bought a 2012 E91, space grey, 28K miles. Why did BMW drop the integral roof rails on the E91 before 2012, and the reintroduce integral roof rails (although lower in height) in 2014? (This is the only "pure E91" thread I found ... the roof rack thread mostly (all?) E90s and E92s.)

Pre-LCI or LCI?

If pre-LCI the front should be fine with 235/35/19, if you go with proper tires for the rear (265 or 275) you'll prob need to roll the rear fenders to avoid rubbing.

Yep as OB writes, you prob will have rubbing. Mine is a pre-LCI
I have 19x9,5 +33 in the back of mine with 5mm spacer and 265 tires. They rub a tiny bit on very bumpy roads.
But when you are aware of it, It's no problem....

If LCI then I'll not meet such problems?

If LCI you have 8mm wider track on each side of the rear, which means that you need a more conservative (higher) offset than a pre-LCI. I think your gonna rub with that rear setup, you need higher offset (prob around 40?) or go with stretch tires (255) and a little bit higher offset, IMO.
