Got wheel bearings pressed along with the hub carrier bushings and all of the subframe bushings. You're not supposed to use grease on the subframe bushings, but they're really hard to get started. I used some band clamps to compress it a bit and some soapy water for lube, eventually it surrendered and slipped in where it belongs. Making progress towards being an actual car again some day.

My E46 decided to remind me that it is now a 21 year old BMW with a largely original cooling system by springing a leak out of the lower radiator hose lol.

Also turns out flex tape isn't as good as in the ads, who would have thought! It's still a win for me if you make it home and it never overheats.

Now don't be dis'in the Flex Tape y'hear. I mean look at the crap you wanted it to stick to, and hold pressure besides. Glad you made it home without major damage.
Look on the bright side, now you've got something to do this weekend.

I've been wavering on ordering B8s for the rear of my 330 sport suspension. I bought B4s but that was before I got the front and rear M3 sway bars, now I'm thinking the B4 will be too squishy for that upgrade. I have to put shocks on the 325 soon as I'm done with this car, your comment put me over the edge I think I'll save the B4s for that and go ahead and pull the trigger on the B8s

lol I actually fixed a couple holes in my underpans with Flex Tape, seriously I think it's stronger than the surrounding area just like the guy who sawed his boat in half says. Asking it to stick to grease and antifreeze soaked rubber may be a bit much to ask tho.

My E46 B6s certainly didn't feel harsh and the roads here aren't German smooth. Very controlled and sporty. I think B8s would feel more like the old Bilsteins in my E30, stiff and fun but something I'd not enjoy on a long motorway run. I put B6s in the back of my Z4 too, the factory shocks in that were WAY too stiff to the point of unsettling the car on bumpy fast corners and making it uncomfortable on potholes. BMW really screwed up the rebound rate on those.

Let us know you get on with the B8s.

AFAIK the B8 are the same damping as the B6 just shorter for the sport suspension. This is one of those things I'm gonna keep second guessing until I've actually tried them but at this point I have upgraded every rear suspension component, M3 subframe and diff bushings, wishbones and guide rods, trailing and toe links, it's all going to be very stiff and which each impulsive upgrade I make the B4s are looking more and more too squishy to be in the mix. IDK tho, not a suspension guru just trying to get a tight, good handling car. I have the 325 to make into a touring car, so that removes some of the considerations for making the 330 comfy. Any input is appreciated.

Not for the weekend I already changed it out! Just need to bleed now. Autozone luckily had a Rein hose in stock, pretty easy job. Looking at it outside the car I'm surprised it even stuck to it lol it's full of grease, it did noticeably slow the leak down though as it didn't throw the low coolant light after taping it and driving it about 20 miles from there.

That seriously looks like something that belongs on The Humongous' car from Road Warrior. The important part is you got home by whatever means necessary, I tip my hat good sir

3PedalJake you'll love the B8s on your 330. I run B8s with ProKits (b12) and though it is on the harsher side as far as dailying goes, handling is great and thats without upgrading anything besides the thrust arms. Oh, and monroe top mounts for the rear are a must

Since we're talking suspension here, I have a question. The previous owner had the shocks replaced on my 328I xdrive(sport package)with OE Sachs(@61k miles).

Once my strurts go bad if I go with Blisten B8s, B6, or B4 will that affect my ride quality? Since my strust will be a different brand and my shocks are a different brand?

Theres a huge thread on the mounts in the suspension section I believe. But to sum it up it replaces the squishy foam for solid rubber, further helping the rigidity of it all

I'm about 90% sure that I'm going with B6s at this point. It's still a toss-up between B6s and KW V1s though. My problem is that my driveway is quite steep and I can't lower the car without dragging the shit out of the front bumper. The KWs are only supposed to lower it about 1/2". What do you think? Will I get away with a 1/2" drop?

Only way I'd risk going lower than what you're at now is if you got something like Sliplo to protect your bumper

Is that coming off an angle or going straight to the road?

I FINALLY got out and did pictures. And I called EEuroparts to yell WHERE IS MY TRACKING NUMBER for my replacement valve cover.

New coil plug to fix a misfire at high rpm - Took a while to get the right one as managed to order an old style one with the tab of to the right.

Anyway ended up being a £20 fix and the car runs so so nice again

Oh and I tightened the rear engine cover bolt to tight and snapped the support off the valve cover............. Yay me

Thanks pal, good stuff there. Having this 325i sitting there that could use all these parts I decide not to put on the 330 is making it easy to get talked into these upgrades.
