to add to that the automatic recirculation works with a sensor checking for excaust gases etc. If the level gets too high it switches to recirculation - otherwise it's always on outside air.

I just discovered this recently as well. I wonder if my 2007 was the same way?

09 335I Battery charge level low
do anyone experience "Battery Charge Level Low" warning in your 3 series. Please advice how to fix it and does that cover under factory warranty? Thank you

Do you have a lot of short drives? In my wifes '07 330i (US 328i) the battery died last year but no warning first. Was replaced by BMW - no cost. P.S. maybe different in the US. You probably have Brake Regeneration System on your '09 - you have warranty - go to your dealer.

If you leave someone in the car and lock it with your fob, the unlock button on the dash won't work and neither will the "double pull" on the handle. They're your captives until you come back.

With the lights on "auto" you can turn them on if off by pushing the fog light button. The lights still work like auto lights and will shut off when the car does.
This is great for bad weather as it's law where I am that your lights must be on if your wipers are but I would forget I had my lights on otherwise.

Haven't been in this thread for a while:
Press the B/C button on the turn-signal stalk to dismiss warnings (ie, low fuel, speed limit reached, door open). Note that some will return though (low tire pressure, low fuel with less than 50km reserve, etc). The radio volume will be lowered the next time you go to radio-readiness if it was previously turned on and left at a high volume. You can turn the radio on with the ignition completely off by pressing the radio on/off button (ie, no need to press Start/Stop at all). The settings will be overridden by your key once you actually hit Start/Stop. * some observations made on an '11 w/ iDrive, and may not apply to non-iDrive or pre-LCI/pre-'11 ** too lazy to check if any of these appear in TFM.

The best way to clean the inside of the back window on the coupe is to fold the seats so you can put you legs in the trunk and get closer.
