Europe uses a different measurement system so 95oct EU does not equal 95oct US
Everyday is indeed a school day. It seems from a quick google, that a Euro 97 is roughly the same as a US 91.

I was unaware of the difference as well. I wonder what the rationale is behind the different rating systems. One would think that international oil companies wouldn't want to muddy the waters with this kind of disparity.

And you're going to be even slightly better off than I am. I mean, you're at what... 6ft above sea level? LOL

Years ago I visited Everglades National Park and driving along in the middle of the park I came across a sign that said "Rock Reef Pass Elevation 1 foot". The road bumped up over a culvert. I stopped and took a picture of that sign but sadly I can't find it right now.

I hate doing struts so when I decided to put the pro kit on I knew I was gonna buy a real spring compressor not one that gouges up the springs while it scares the crap out of me. This one has a big hydraulic ram and 2 sizes of spring holder paddles and a chain for good measure. It was the easiest spring job I ever did, should have bought this long ago.

That looks pretty cool, where can I find one of those? Spring compressors scare the shit out of me. I've lifted a few Jeeps and that's always my least favorite part.

Even at best when the screw type ones work OK they gouge the sh!t out of the springs. DOn't mind that part on old ones but not on brand new Eibachs. I got it on ebay, cheaper than I expected too. It's typical chyna quality, very beefy and crude and the one flaw in this one was the plastic oil filler plug broke in shipping and the oil was all over inside the bag inside the box. Worked fine after I wiped it down and filled it back up, guessing it won't rust for a while either.

Flashed the E92 back to the stock 330i bimmerlabs tune as I spoke with @rjahl and was told that it running on just o2 sensor feedback when the primary o2 sensors are moved all the way down there on a stock car, the fuel trims would get messy (they would still be off with a stock file but this is better as it gets MAF feedback) The car drives awesome just cold starts are a bit iffy so we'll see if it improves. Either way it will need a proper headers tune which it'll hopefully get soon

Also I love how you can just hook the car up to the computer and flash it in a matter of a minute or two after the RSA delete has been done

Speaking of tunes, something new has been released for the N52

https://www.bavautoparts.com/product...27DxizoylIfHfs

PM me if you want a $40 discount code. I'm not sure if sharing it publicly is aloud since this was released to a semi-puplic FB group

That's pretty cool, wonder how it will do since many people that want to adjust the throttle on these cars just want to make it more aggressive overall. This should take care of all low end throttle lag though. It's annoying when automakers now with the option of being capable of super fast throttle opening electronically, make it lag more than a cable setup

I might be interested in this after I get everything else working. The throttle map at least, don't think I need "burbles". If they make one that shoots bubbles that'd be cool tho.

Can you point me to some info on RSA delete? Is this like signature crypto stuff?

My understanding of it is that it unlocks the dme or rather allows you to flash files into it as if they were OEM files by BMW. I believe it allows flashing of files without the BMW signature or that it sees them all as if they are. It lets you flash the 330 tune on a 328 with a different powerclass which normally it wouldn't allow you to.

Thanks have to read up on it. I'm not at the point where I'm going to do any coding and may never do it on the 330i but I'm already eying that 3 stage for the 325i but that won't be for months yet, trying to get ahead of the curve.

I know RSA is a public/private crypto key scheme, BMW must use it to sign their code. There would be no way to fake anything into accepting it as genuine, so this delete must circumvent it altogether.

The dude who's been working with them to get the tune going hasn't had any complaints. Think he said he's had it for like 5k miles and likes it

3PedalJake the burbles are a free option, I think I'm going to get the tune this year without burbles

May or may not need a flat repair. 15 minutes of driving on the highway after running over shrapnel from this destroyed battery I got a TPMS light. Was 10lbs low. Hoping it was somehow a coincidence and the tire was slowly going low over time (winter) though I doubt it

I I am wondering how you managed to run over a battery? Spray it with some soapy water and look for bubbles.

There's a few things haha. Gonna let it sit overnight and see if it holds air

-At night
-Right before a left turn
-Didnt hit the battery but someone did, alls I saw was something wet on the road (leaking battery acid) followed by a crunch (running over pieces of the "shell")

Yikes. I used to tell my bro when we were out cruising you could build an entire car with the pieces you find along the road, we found a chevy turbo 400 tranny once. Mebbe not that battery tho lol. Good luck w/ the tire
