This is one of the most classic posts regarding the history of 335 tuning here at e90:

Just look at many of the user's post on the forum with any tunes in general. They have really no clue what they bought. All they know is it makes power! But no understanding of how it does this and why every other tuner takes the opposite position about directly controlling timing. Next, because it is a cheap solution. That is a good word too..it is cheap, unsophisticated and makes power. Also, people have no idea of the history, like the previous posts show. The guy literally took Shiv's half-ass joke method of tuning, and started his business off of that, then tried to make Shiv look like some guy that was clueless and charging 800x more than the product was worth based on what he understood it did. Terry Tuner, the big resistor tune, now known as JB and JB+. As Tomas Tusser wrote about 500yrs ago..."A fool and his money are soon parted." It takes time, effort, ability and desire to want to know exactly what and how these tunes each work. There is more than enough info on this forum to explain that. Most don't want to do that obviously by the 5000 tunes Terry/Mike continually say that have been sold to people around the world.

That being said, I don't like what I'm seeing from the JB4 side or the Procede side lately. Cobb is definitely on the right track. They're going to take over this market very soon I think.

This is actually something fresh to the table for this thread. Maybe you should check out the classified sections if this thread bores you so much. |

best post in that thread: Quote:
what we learn from this. Terry does realize that pulling timing is a good idea when adding boost on pump gas....to any car. interesting......... a lot has changed w n54's since 2007 but the basic logic of tuning has not.........everyone agree on this?
