I believe 335iNavyGuy has Vargas but I don't think there's RB's around here. Good luck and keep us posted if you upgrade

Or deal with spending the "extra money;" like three times or more if you have a shop do the install, and whether you can retain your existing aftermarket exhaust or need to purchase a new one. We're talking passing $12k and way, way beyond, plus several months of having your car in their shop. And at those claimed horsepower/torque figures, everything else in the drive train will have to be beefed up to put that power down reliably and not break. Might as well write a blank check and expect at least double the value of your car spent on all these "upgrades" alone.

Where are you getting 12k from? And if someone has the money to buy a bmw and mod it, it shouldn't be a problem.

We are spoiled with our quick spool. 3k for spool on a big single is still pretty damn good to me. Just because someone stopped posting on a forum doesn't mean anything. Why would the car be a weekend warrior? Daily it with a single turbo or big twins!

There will always be cars out there faster and better. In the end Whoever has the most money wins the race.

Fftec sells a front mount without turbo for 4900. You can source a turbo yourself after that and buy wastegates.

I won't argue cause I just suggested upgrading to fat turbo instead of hybrids. He doesn't have to listen to me. I am all for rbs but you need to really load the car up with octane to get full power out of rbs.

You can also go with a smaller sized turbo if you're looking to make more power lower on the powerband. It all boils down to which size turbo and what supporting hardware you get.

Also, the most expensive part of going single would come down to the tuning stage. You'd be better off going with a standalone management unit and then having a real pro tune it. Otherwise, if you search properly, you can find used single turbos and get them re-fabbed and get all your custom piping done for a bit less than $12k.

That being said, I'm still waiting see how much power can really be extracted from the N54, whether it be on twins or a hefty single.

With what you say I do agree however, in the end it has been and will always be "To Each Their Own" If they want to go the route of RBs or stock or maybe even a smaller turbo, its up to them. We might see it being worthless or a bad way to spend/invest one's money but then again, its not our money anyways!

Either way, I always like seeing what people do, do to their cars because it helps me decide, especially seeing as my original plans fell through!

I recently got my turbos replaced under warranty for my 335i. The first few service advisors i talked to wanted me to have my actuators adjusted first before being able to get my turbos warrantied. let me know if you have the wastegate rattle and under 82k miles i can send you in the right direction.
