I think the name for it is a pain in the ass. Maybe it's not actually that bad but when I did the belt on a 135i DCT with the exchanger on the radiator, it was an absolute pain.

E92 help

Hi all,

I've just recently converted my e92 from n46 to n54..I only managed to get hold of a e91 which everything was transferred to my e92..The issue is that e92 originally drops and raises its windows 5/6mm when the doors are opened and closed, since my wiring is from an e91 that feature doesn't operate..appear it's your guidance If I could get it to work..aside to that my central locking doesn't work as well..would it be possible to make it operate again..your guidances are very much appreciated

You should probably be able to code that in the GM5 module using NCS Expert or similar.

You need to drop the radiator in about half way from the top. Then reach up from the bottom and push the transmission cooler towards the engine and pull the fan down the rest of the way. The cooler really gets in the way when you try to slide the fan down.

Did some ingenious window covering on the E90 because of course it was going to rain today, Saturday. Because it can't rain on the weekdays when you have to go to work

Either way offer up people are so unreliable that I have to wait till Sunday to get the hoist so..

I have a thing for fixing stuff that's hopelessly broken and would have a guaranteed free pass to the junkyard, this thing would get that treatment if i had a title for it.

Overlooked the fact that this thing doesn't have a fuse box for either lol.. I was gonna try start it. Have a battery in, dme and cas easy to access and ready to unplug but at this point I will have to pull a lot of parts out of my e92 to run it.

Need 3 spark plugs, 6 coils, dme, cas, fuse box and luck from the BMW gods lol.

Snow must have taken my front brake sensor out. Car alerted me that I have to replace my brand new brakes. Weird is the message on the cic doesn't mention if it's front or rear brakes. But going into protools it tells you what sensor is out

Is there a way to disable this? I replaced my brakes but didn't feel like spending the mo ey on new sensors, so I just cut the 2 wires, tied them together and heat shrinked them. But it's not 100% because the brake pads warning light still comes on from time to time.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to code it out. Cause I did the same thing and if memory serves me right it popped up as am error one day so I coded it out. Either that or I fixed the wiring

It's been a 3 month marathon of wrenching and polishing on my 330i but it's finally all back together, fired right up and code free,,, just in time for the next blizzard to seal it in the garage for another who knows how long But it's together! Just have left to do the VCG, but wanted to get it back to baseline and code free before I tackled that.

Some things it got...

Front suspension:
M3 E90 sway bar, M3 control arm, M3 thrust arm, white line adjustable sway link, new F.A.G. bearing hubs, Bilstein B8s and Eibach prokit springs, powerstop brakes, SS brake lines.

Rear suspension:
3.64 diff from auto trans car, subframe from a 335d,M3 subframe bushings, new GKN axles, M3 wishbones, M3 guide rods, M3 E90 sway bar manzo adjustable toe link, ECS trailing arm, Bilstein B8 shocks, Eiback pro kit springs, new wheel bearings, powerstop brakes, SS brake lines. cupro-nickel hard brake lines.

Engine bay:
Oil pan gasket, OFHG, water pump, belt-idler-tensioner, thermostat, hoses, AC compressor, PS pump, PS rack, pressure hoses, aFe catted headers

Holy shit looks better than what it did out of the factory. Did you get a new steering wheel? Mines somewhat shiny. I've cleaned it with soap and water, disinfectant wipes and the shine is still kinda there.

Thx y'all!

The steering wheel is a sew on cover from Chyna https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...ostcount=13875

Yeah sadly I didn't increase it's value by nearly the amount of parts I threw at it, to anyone but me that is and maybe a handful of other crazy ppl

I'm sure if someone wants THE 330i then that car would be worth a lot more than 4K lol, everything seems like new. I'd be scared to drive it around after having it look that nice and not wanting it to get dirty. Why did you do a 335d subframe on it?

Everything either *is* new or has had a new surface exposed. It's worth a lot more than that to me (obvs), it's the new car I wanted but couldn't buy, so here is a more than reasonable facsimile at 1/4 the price (some assembly required). I put quite a bit into it but nothing like the price tag on even a "certified pre owned". It's gonna be a garage queen and only go out on days worthy of summer tires but thankfully I have an exact little brother 325i that's about to get a less meticulous overhaul to wear the A/S tires and pick up the slack on nasty days.

The fact that the subframe is from a 335d is not relevant it's the same part #, I thought of that after I posted lol. The relevant part is it's from Californy wheres sh!t never rusts, unlike the one it replaced. And I put M3 body and diff bushings in it.

Thx brother I hope you get down this way to see it. The roads are like I said before, lots of twisties out in the pinelands (biggest unbroken forest on the east coast) but no mountains sadly it was all ocean floor in ancient times just a few bumps. I'm more used to it on the Sportster but I'm sure it's gonna be almost as fun in the Bimmer. The wife knows how to hold on, now I'm gonna have to teach the dog too.

You guys are all doing serious work. Today I just replaced the harmonic balancer, installed an INA clutched alternator pulley, and replaced the belts on my 335d. Easy peasy. Tomorrow a transmission service, brake fluid flush, and ps fluid change. Too cold outside to do anything else, and this horrible white crap is falling from the sky. Good time to hide in my shop.
