I have work at 5am then out of work I'm in school until 11pm on weekdays so this is certainly not something I get to enjoy messing with every day. Only weekends can one realistically get to doing anything.. if you don't have a ton of crap to do for school lol.

Just removed the flywheel and put it back on the stand this time straight up, which btw is quite literally the most dangerous part of this whole project. You pull a 350lb engine slanted out of the car and then have to drop it in a slanted engine stand, straight on the floor.

Well, I haven't had anything major go bad after having my indy fix the oil leak issues.

Other than I guess the normal BMW tire wear, I've got 0 issues

When the water pump goes out I have two options, have my indy do it for $670 or diy it for $300 ish.

As far as things I've done today, just picked up a set of style 162s. Two have hairline cracks but for $100 who can complain? I'll either fix them, sell them, or make them into furniture

Same here, except water pump was done right before I got it. I haven't had anything really major happen in the 34k I've had it, definitely nothing I didn't know of months in advance. It's been a good car.

Which is good, because college is kicking my ass as is, I'd rather my reliable daily not do the same.

I have 5 wheels and dont like carrying a spare so I use it as a coffee table chair. My GF likes sitting on it and its quite comfy cuz of the slight concave. Just make sure u wash all the brake dust inside and out. I think the best OEM wheels on a prelci e90 are these.

Thats a great idea on the chair, I might have to do that as one of them came with a new tire on it. And I'd have to agree they're the best stock wheels for the E90

They do look nice but they're super heavy, around 30 lbs each. Can't find the source but just lifting them vs my arc-8s it's night and day.

Started it, which in this weather is an accomplishment. It was -13 F yesterday morning.

There's so much ice at intersections. I have a bad feeling my car won't have a clean Carfax anymore after this winter.

Oh YO for sure. I have 17 inch Arc 8s also and they are i think 17 or 18lbs. Big difference. Its cool how BMW engineered and designed these wheels for 06 330i and I believe the 07 08 335i. They are also very easy to keep clean. I always WONDERED WHY use 18s on the sport package cars. Isnt 17s more better? LOL

Yep they definitely are heavier. Until I get a set of arc 8s and more low, heavy wheels will work for now. My current wheels aren't the lightest, 18x9.5 Rotiform WGRs.

The next day bought some jb weld and let it sit for 2 days only to find out the nut I was trying to jb weld on had fallen at some point and jb welded itself to the driveway 🙄😂 I decided to bite the bullet and bought a new grinder and cut the head off. Welll that kind of worked cause a very small piece of the pressure decided to stay on the flywheel and the rest came off 😂 so now I am in search of a new dual mass flywheel if anyone has one pm me, all in all a fun day and productive. Also does anyone know what the hairy crap is? I'm assuming clutch material but I've never seen anything like that
Why did you take out the transmission? To fix the the clutch, Rear Main Seal?

For looks. Same reason why so many SUVs come with 20 inch wheels now. It looks cool but the wheels are heavy and having no tire sidewall they ride like garbage.

And don't forget they bend with every pothole. 17s are bad enough for that.

This is an automatic flywheel so it's just a metal piece compared to the bag of grease/dual mass the manuals get I think so likely wouldn't work.

And I'm still dead set on starting this engine outside of the car so imma need it for the starter. Have to figure out how to have a whole harness setup so I can test stuff like valves too but mainly make sure this runs good after I do whatever ideas I have for it, before throwing it in the car.

For sure, I cracked one of my 16" rims from my snow tires on a pothole in NYC.

The local tire guy says he sees newer SUVs with 19s and 20s all the time with cracked wheels. The owners get pissed when they have a month old SUV with a cracked wheel.

I'm wondering if I should start mines because it's in the negatives here too or wait until it gets a bit warmer?

Sometimes I wish I had a place of my own with a nice garage and some good tools. Give me like 4-5 years and I'll have that

I just noticed my Valvtronic motor gasket is leaking (my indy replaced it), I have to make an appointment with them so they can replace the gasket but it's too damn cold to be outside.

All my brake stuff from FCP came in today. Got a power bleeder, some catch containers, fluid, and new carrier bolts. Now alls I need is R1 to restock their 335 rotors and paint the new calipers

I hear that. My tail light bulb went out the other day. I decided to replace it and give the fuzz one less reason to pull me over. Took 3 minutes and my hands were frozen from the wind. Damn you winter you suck.
