+1, looks good. Except for spool, LTFTs went back to 0% at warm cruise between the 27th and 28th logs, 0 corrections and full timing targets on the WOT log. I'd try the v7.1 93 octane again and see if it's good too.

Target is the limiting factor for boost here, but spool doesn't seem abnormal. Could try a Stage 2 91 octane 7.1, which should up the boost target (and boost) a bit to see if they're having any trouble reaching higher quickly.

Cool, plan is to go to stage 2+ over winter with some DPs anyway. Thank you and others for your help!

Only problem is an occasional 30ff (happens when hot, usually after a few runs or 1 hour drive...BMW wants a small fortune to change Turbos and 6 injectors, not sure it's really needed) - do you see anything obvious explaining my underboost ? (Iat, wgdc ?)

Thanks a lot

Hi again community

After 1+ year of occasional 30FF (stock car) without visible leak, and a 6K$ estimate from BMW to change both Turbos and 6 injectors (which I politely turned down), I've asked them to change both solenoids (only !) - got the car back on last Friday

Result (very basic log, 4th gear only, but you get the idea):
https://datazap.me/u/olivier/olivaft...=0&data=3-4-23

Boost right back on target, WGDC looks much better, and I feel less lag when pedal down on low RPM (which was the cause of 30FF I suppose, combined with Boost/Boost Target Delta)...
I'm crossing fingers, but for a 300$ fix it seems to me money well spent (Don't hesitate to comment if you see strange stuff BTW)

I'm really wondering how many good-working N54 Turbos were replaced just because BMW didn't care about basic troubleshooting first...

If no 30FF during the winter, time for a FMIC at Spring

Indy Shop said pinched Vacuum line to wastegate was causing Vanos codes and 30ff?
Here is a pull after they fixed.

Running MHD 7.1 Stage 1 plus FMIC 91 Oct, Aftermarket Charge pipe and intakes. Turbos have 15k on them.

Thanks for your time guys!

eh, you still got a little delta close to 3000 for boost target and boost mean. Its still with WGdcs are high so you might be ok. Its pretty close to the limits for that map. You will need to give it more scroll if you want more grins.. Its a little lean there but not bad. 14.1 barometric pressure, , you arnt' close to sea level thats for sure.. a custom tune with be able to keep you away from a 30ff and also get you some wastegate tuning that will compesnate for the low baro pressure.

A S2 map will try to build boost a little quicker and might put you closer to a 30ff.. so you will need to watch it.

Hmm thats a big increase IATs.. it goes up 40degrees in 7 seconds.. I dont understand that.. It also doesnt seem to like that 91 fuel at all.. a lot of timing getting pulled for what I would think should be a pretty mild map.

Any way you can try some ethanol and see if it stops the retards??

New Log: 335XI

Hey guys,

I pulled a few logs yesterday on a closed course, using straight 93 Octane. I see a few drops in timing, but AFR, Boost/Req, and Load/Req seem "ok" to my untrained eye.

https://datazap.me/u/jwebb335xi/log-...-6-7-8-9-10-11

Do you all think the timing is an issue?

Any other "problems"?

Thanks much!

Mods in Sig.

hmm seems like a custom map from wedge? pretty good taper on it. I would think it would target higher load (boost) even on 93. WGs seem like they are not having a prob and could take more. I would turn off the parameter for MAF req WG/GPS and MAF req GPS. And turn on boost mean.

Thanks for the comments. We have a few e85 pumps around us. In this case, I wanted 93 only to make sure I wasn't running a tune which is too aggressive for plain old pump gas.

Now that I had my HPFP replaced and and have a Fuel-it stage 1 in the tank, i think I'm going to try something e30/40 ish...?

I don't know how you guys can tell one tune from another. :

This is version 4 of a Wedge tune. I had boost and timing issues earlier, but have since replaced Vacuum lines, Valve Cover and Gasket. I also double clamped FMIC connections, replaced the TB gasket and cleaned my diverters. The dealer did a HPFP and I've got a stage 1 Fuel-IT pump in the tank as well.

I'll add new plugs for good measure and I "think" the car is ready to be pushed a bit more..

Potentially adding some E85 will allow another 2PSI across the board! ?!?

if you run e30-40 maps you will get 20-21 psi on a custom tune

Well, you do have wedge in your sig ;-) but the map ID has WB in the prefix. That's the wedge designation. Dimitri has BQ prefix and OTS maps have none.

I dont see any reason you need more than 93 to get to S2 level boost. Timing retards are minimal. All indications are you can easlly hold 16 in the upper ranges on that fuel. I would try to get some log time AFTER the shift.. let it go into 4th and pull at least from 4000 to say 5000.. that will get some events after the DME deals with the shift. Thats when timing retards tend to be at their worst.

It was done to keep up with what maps were not OTS after wedge got carved up.
