We all understand the extended time required for this kind of mod...what i would have appreciated, and I'm sure FinnVette would have appreciated, were some updates along the way. My knowledge of events comes purely from this thread, so I know i don't have all the facts, but this is just how I see things...
...Now can you re-map my 330 ECU to be a 335 twin-turbo?

Evan,
Thanks for the PM! We are in schedule and expecting delivery in Dallas by Thursday. Next time when I will try EVOtech's M5 program, I will buy an 2nd ECU for that... Last edited by FinnVette; 02-27-2007 at 08:38 PM.. |

should be interesting!
I wonder if the car will drive exactly like a 330i from the dealership or if it will just make similar peak numbers and drive different? I guess, I wonder if it will be like OEM?? Good luck and keep us posted... if this works, it means that it would be possible for me to have my 323i upgraded to euro 325i spec! |

Numbers should be around what the 330i's are getting from EVOtech tuning. So 10hp 10ftlb on top of what the 330i's are already putting to the ground. I haven't heard from EVOtech if they got any projected numbers. Finn did you dyno your car before all this?

Unfortunately not. My car is also a 4wd Step, so it's not a perfect example. However I will soon have two ECU's... so it's a possibility that we could do an easy comparison... Anyhow I do not know if there are 4wd dyno's in Dallas. Also from my Haldex Audi experience, I would probably need to pull some fuses to completely disable "x-drive" from sifting the power between front and rear axle...

hey i have a question bout the ecu tuning
say this does work. and im gonna the ecu flashed by evotech. instead of getting just the 330 reflash... are there add ons to the ecu flashing? as in the ecu would take into account an added intake and exhaust that i have. i remeber JLEVI talking about ecu tuning from Speed Inovations and they have upgraded ecu's that are a bit more costly than regular ones, but add in the intake and exhaust... and other power parts for that reason. does evotech do this? just so i might be getting even more power than just a 330 ecu would give me from evotech?

i think someone from creative mentioned in this thread earlier that they could do that with little trouble so hopefully between our shorter gearing, uprgraded ecus, and other mods we will be able to take 330s with no trouble and leave them embarressed for once

cuz like evan said, the ecu gives 10hp 10lbs to the 255hp already. so thats 265hp stock with ecu. ecu reacts very well powerwise with intake and exhaust so even though those 2 dont give much power to e90's, they might with a chip. so would 275hp be a reasonable power output? cant wait.

I think that if we can get a true 265+ hp, you should be really happy. An even better way to think of it would be, we should be happy if one of these cars puts out 225-230 whp. (estimate of 15% drivetrain loss). |

When you send us your ECU for programming, you also send us info on the transmission you have, fuel type that you will be using i.e. 91, and a list of any performance mods like intake or exhaust, and EVOtech takes those into account when tuning the ecu. The 10hp 10ftlbs are measured gains at the wheels for the 330i. It would be great if Finn found a 4wd dyno and ran both ecu's to see the difference. Texas people or anyone that knows the Subaru community help him out.
