I had my wheels ceramic coated and really don’t have any issues with the amount of dust produced. Just pressure wash them clean each wash and hit them with fallout remover once a month or so and they come up like new every time.

New 1500s installed. Took a spirited at times cruise today with a large group of people. Total mileage from leaving house to return approx 150 miles. Brakes performed well. No difference in street driving from what I could tell. Without a doubt MUCH less brake dust and super easy to clean off the wheels. I give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes, but based solely off of feedback from what other 1500 pad owners have said compared to the stock pads. The 2000 units are much closer to stock pads, hence the initial bite is more in line with them. The 1500 is a very low dust pad. But as we know that comes as a sacrifice to overall stopping power / brake torque.

Well people bitching about brake dust are buying brake pads to mitigate lol. Other posts have the word ceramic. The gent you flamed did nothing wrong by mentioning a way to offset brake dust as the ENTIRE thread is obsessive about BRAKE DUST LOL!

As mentioned previously, my car is ceramic coated (including wheels/calipers) along with a 1500 pad switch and it’s made cleaning exponentially easier. No regrets on either decision. YMMV |

I would add ceramic coating doesn't do much in prevention but makes a big difference in ease of cleaning. That's why I do my oem and after market wheels typically, even before I experienced first hand the dust on the g87.

You got the best of both worlds here. Pad swap for reducing brake dust, ceramic coating for ease of cleaning. 😁

The 1500s stop as well as the stock pads. There is no noticeable difference at all under any typical stopping situation including slamming on the brakes at 85 mph to avoid a jackass in a redneck pickup truck who was road raging, cut me off, and slammed on his brakes.

My impression is the initial bite is equal to stock, at least down to the low 40s.

We've heard of many cases (here) of the 1500s being inferior to stock on initial bite. That, to me, tells me even though a few say they're the same, they're probably not.

I can also say that I’m nearly convinced the 1500’s don’t generate ANY brake dust. It’s so minimal I almost believe the dust on the wheels is just normal road dust |

Please list all the “many” cases here in which posters claim an inferior bite. Verify with user names. Your turn………. |

^^^ I've not seen one person say their performance is inferior to stock, let alone "many". I have combined 20k miles on iSweep 1500 pads on my M2 & my wife's X3MC. They're as good as stock, period.

I'm not gonna say there is a big difference because I have not tried them... but I've run dozens of brake pads over the years on BMWs and other cars and there is simply no way that IS1500 can have initial bite in cold or rain etc like OEM pads. They are dusty for a reason. This isn't a negative necessarily because stock BMW brakes have too much bite IMO, but there is no way a low dust formulation can have OE level initial bite.
