Great day today, went to see the ever helpful Phil200tdi for some tinkering. Never managed to track down exactly what the issue was but, with Phil's help narrowed it down massively.
Today we changed all the vac lines except the 2 turbo ones [ pain in the rear to do as engine was to hot] even though, Phil still tried it but the front was just to tight to pull off. Removed both vanos solenoids and cleaned them then swapped them over and went for various runs. Got some strange results when testing the vac system. Instead of idling at about 10inhg, my car would idle at 0 On a run the vac was hitting 18inhg [which it should on the G4 board ] but, once there gradually lose vac and throw a 30FF. Thanks to Phil's help it looks like I can now rule out the boost side being the issue So the next thing to do is get the 2 turbo lines done and install my 2nd boost solenoid. To cap off a good day, Phil took me out in his car. Holy S%^& that thing is a monster. I drove home thinking "Must have meth, must have meth!" Thanks for all the help today mate, top bloke.

Don't know I was busy screaming like a girl lol. Seriously it would be hard to get that power down in 1st and 2nd. More meaningful, its 60-130 is astounding.
If I had to hazard a guess, it would scare 911 Turbo owners to death!

Ha ha no worries.
It looks like vacuum is likely the root cause of the issues. Replacing all the remaining hoses and the other actuator may rule this out. You can keep testing it as we did. You mentionned a manifold cover gasket leak, could this leak boost/vacuum? The other thing to consider is to upgrade to G5 ISO..

By the way as a fellow 335i owner the rest of the mods are music to my ears.... I'm just awaiting time to put my cat less down pipes on then it's decision time re remap |

Cant answer directly for Phil but, his car with a leak is not far off a 10 now. I have driven 11 second cars at the Pod and it feels a lot faster even though he has a slight leak. I felt it at about 5000rpm [correct me if i am wrong Phil] When you add meth to these cars, 0-60 becomes pointless, they are scary from 60 plus as 2 bikes found out on our run. Dont get me wrong, a M3 is still the want car but, it would not stick with a 335i running the sort of figures Phil and Idnan are putting down. Hell even mine with a boost leak makes a standard M3 look sluggish, ask Phil, he has been in it.
