Welcome to the UK section.
Mr Plum- hmm.. if you bump into Mr Apple & Mr Orange anytime soon, could you tell them I've never made a mockery of fruit products, other than the time I called Ms Cherry a complete tart. All the best. Viv |

Should have posted in here first.....
Hi Everyone
Sorry, should have posted here sooner...... This is my first ever new car and first ever BMW.......I love the car, though ownership hasn't been all plain sailing yet. It was great looking through all the brochures and spec'ing it how I wanted it to be, though I wish manufacturers like BMW, Mercedes, Audi would get it in their heads that if I'm spending £36K on a car, it should have at least have leather, SatNav & bluetooth phone prep as standard..... Anyway in the end this is the spec I went for.....was just going to have a 330D but the finance quotes I got made the 335D cheaper over two years than the 330D.....so it was a bit of a no brainer! Got a good deal in the end. It was tough waiting for delivery and then it came earlier that expected but put it off another month so I could get the new 08 reg...... The details are as follows 335D SE Auto Coupe Space Grey (love this colour) Black Dakota Leather Anthracite headlining (yes, it is dark inside....) Professional navigation system Front heated seats (pricey but the girlfriend wanted it!) Auto dim and folding mirrors (good option) Adaptive headlights (well worth £245 would recommend to everybody) Bluetooth, telematics & voice control DAB digital radio HiFi loudspeaker system (glad I opted for this) USB audio interface (fantastic) Storage compartment pack (useful) Debadged & velour floor mats I've now fitted mudflaps all round to help protect the paintwork a bit and they look fine. I average about 36mpg on a 40 mile a day round trip which is mainly country lanes and some A roads. On the motorway it does around 40 or so depending how restrained I am, but have seen it get upto about 43-45mpg. Round town the it suffers because of the Auto 'box but I don't see the point in a manual with all that torque..... Hope you like Sean |

Nice car and nice spec. Sean.
I had an E92 335d before my present car which was space grey. My preferred choice of exterior colour. Sure you'll enjoy the 'big D' as it is very capable in many respects. That torque wave can be increased you know - with a re-map. Enjoy. |

Welcome SeanC, I too love space grey, an awesome colour. If you fancy a re-map then id 100% recommend it, there all several companies to choose from All in effect as good as each other.
if your interested give me a PM, ive written lots on the subject. A/J Lovely M3 mate, i do like Jerez black. Did you buy new out of interest? Carlos

Hello folks, another newbie here.
Just bought my third BMW 3 series, this one an e90 2006 330d SE auto with Bixenons, professional nav, bluetooth and heated, leather memory seats. so far I'm enjoying it and it's shaping up to be a good car. my previous cars have been, in order: G reg BMW e30 325iA R reg Audi A3 1.8T Sport Y reg Volvo S80 T6 Executive 02 reg BMW e46 320td SE Y reg Mercedes SLK320 I'm just getting used to idrive. they say that you need a degree in computer science to use it, fortunately I have one! that said, I don't think it's terribly intuitive, but now I understand it's logic, it's not so bad. not terribly quick though. I wouldn't mind trying to get my local dealer update the firmware on idrive and bluetooth if possible (and free). I'm hoping that might quicken up the interface a little and an upgrade to the bluetooth I'm hoping might get my iphone 3g connected. I know there's an outstanding issue with the iphone 3g, that of the address book not syncing for a lot of people (but not everyone somehow), but I don't even get that far. for me it just connects, disconnects, reconnects etc. anyone any ideas there? I went into my dealer this afternoon actually, to ask if I could have a printout of the specification the car was ordered with, so I could see what was there and if there were any options I was unaware of. they refused to give me a copy, which I thought rather mean. not quite sure what they stand to lose by giving it to me. might email BMW UK and ask them instead. anyways, that's me introduced, thought I'd say hi. dave |
