Coupe/Vert should receive a mid-life facelift in Sep 09. One year after the sedan/touring.

Technically, I think you're both correct. The face lift wont happen until sept. 09 for MY 2010 cars.

Right, as a 2010 model, the poster that I was responding too asked for 2009 vert pic's, which would be exactly the same as 2008!

I wouldn't expect photo's of the 2010 e92/e93 to surface until next July'ish...

The black 335i is my 2008 335i before i took delivery. The new rear lights will definitely not fit the 2008 and older models. When i initially saw the new lights i thought that the olny main diffference in shape is in the nothced part of the lihgts, and that a mere swapping of the trunk lid would fix the problem. Upon further inspection i realize now that the whole shape of the rear lights have been changed and no part of the rear lights will fit the older models. The new lights are cool and i prefer them to the old ones, but i do think that the older lights make the rear end look a little wider. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I my thought is I believe your mistaken, the outer rear taillights seem to look the same shape to me. Your pic vs the new one are from different angles, but I believe they are still the same shape...

I'm sure someone will try a swap not too long after they are released...

Interesting that you think the older lights make the rear look wider, in the press release it states that BMW tried to change the taillights to make the rear look wider, lol. They look the same width to me...

I understand why BMW would claim that the new lights make the rear look wider. The new lights are wider and look narrower due to the L shape configuration. To me the older lights look like they sit farther apart from each other which makes the car look wider in my own opinion (like they are pushed as far to the corners of the vehichle as possible). Ether way, I like the design of the newer one soley because of the LED cluster. I think they will look fanatastic at night. I wished BMW stayed with the "addidas stripes" of the older design. I really like them becausse they are unique. I believe the E92 sports the 3 stripes also.

Take another look at the new lights and you will see that the there is a slight slant downwards from the right to left. Now, you might be right about the different camera angle, but it just seems to me that the slant on the new design is more pronounced than the older design. If they are they same then I am sure some people will try to reto fit their cars with the new rear lights even if they will have to purchase a new trunk lid.

^ sorry, I guess you're not familiar with BMW's line-up, I believe the awd "x" models of the BMW 3 series have been alive since the e30 (mid-late 80's) body style. So, yes, xi or as I believe BMW is changing to a new name "x-Drive" versions of the 3 series will be available...

Detail along the rockers and the 189 wheels give the car a nice stance and look.

Nice refresh IMO.

Can't wait for the 2010 e92/93 refresh! If I end up moving down to warmer climates in a year or two like planned that just might be the excuse for me to leaseswap my 335xi coupe and go for a 335i... hopefully by that time it it'll have a factory LSD and ventilated seats along with the new iDrive and DCT.

And without the need for snow clearance I can go whole hog on it and deck it out with a (hopefully cheaper/easier to find) M-tech kit, 19s, and coilovers!

*drool...

And to ease my main regret with my 335xi I'll get rid of my current black leatherette interior and go whole hog for a cream or lemon leather interior... hopefully will have the e93's sunreflective coating by then to be much cooler. Unfortunately the dealer didn't have any leatherette in stock when I ordered my car and I took hearsay at face value... there is a big feel and detailing difference between the leatherette and leather in reality .

The taillights are starting to grow on me now that I'm seeing them from different angles...although I still hope they come out with blacklines. That picture with the reflections in the hood is awesome... I really think people are going to like the changes with the LCI when they see it in person!
