I don't think I have posted in this thread yet, but I picked up an 08 PB e90 335i (tan interior) a month ago. Not my first choice in colors, but I like it a lot and its a very rare color compared to the endless BMW's around town. I spent the fits $$ & time on some maintenance items as it has 90k miles. As far as mods, Its got some tint (35% ish), but I am probably going to go darker. So far, I vinyl wrapped the interior trim a brushed metallic black. (was aluminum), threw in black carpets. I had a little vinyl left over so I wrapped the kidney grills. I am almost done plasti dipping the window trim black. (I have debated painting and wrapping, too but decided to plasti dip since I already had a can laying around it and it was the easiest). It has the style 162 wheels. I am planning on plasti dipping them anthracite grey metallic with gloss in the next few weeks. If I like the look, i'll probably eventually have them powder coated or professionally painted. I have LED halo upgrades on order as well as LED interior lighting. Other cosmetic plans include swapping the center console for a black one (or maybe just the armrest), and adding some wheel spacers. I plan to enjoy it as is for 6 or so months to make sure I don't run into any other problems (like the leaking OFH gasket I have), then will add a tune and some bolt ons. I'll get some pics up after the trim is on. cheers

Couldn't decide what color to paint/powder coat my stock wheels, so I plasti dipped them anthracite grey metallic with a coat of gloss. It came out alright (better than my plasti dip on my similar color g35)

I am not sure I like the color yet, looks real close to black in this sunlight picture, up close, you can see the different color. I didn't like the matte black job on my last car, but maybe a gloss black would look better than this???

An here is a shot from when I got it with stock color wheels and before I painted the trim and wrapped the grill

I'll drive around awhile to see if it grows on me or not before deciding on something permanent

Thought I would share a pic of the new to me 2011 335xi 6MT in PBM. To be honest, I was pretty against the color to begin with, but was adamant that I didn't want black (looks great but needs TLC). I found the CPO with the options I wanted in PBM in Denver so I went to the local dealer, decided the color wasn't bad and bought the car.

Having had it for a couple of days, I am now very happy I picked this car and this color. I was scared of a champagne similarity, but it really doesn't give that vibe to me. However, I was a little nervous about it so I had the dealer powder coat the 284 wheels satin black and put the OEM black grill on the front and tint the windows at 35%. Shadowline trim would be nice, but it isn't bugging me at the moment.

I don't plan on lowering the car due to the bad roads here in CT and I think the black rims deemphasize the that fact they are 17" and not the 18-19" I see everywhere on the forum and that do look pretty good. I like the ride height and sidewall thickness from a practical viewpoint. If I wanted to give up on some practicality, I probably would have gotten a 335is or dug deep for an M3. Overall I am pretty pleased and happy to join the E90 and the PBM club.

Hands down the best platinum bronze modded. I would have modded to the same level but I only have a 328i.

i wanted to get these exact rims for my girlfriend's 2007 E90 328i; I knew they were 17s so when I saw yours I thought they were 18s, you're right that the dark paint de-emphasizes their size! great stuff

I miss this color.

I miss Platinum Bronze Metallic. Had it on this 2011 328. What I don't miss is the slow-to-downshift transmission.
If this color was offered today, I'd be ordering a car in it.
Does anybody else miss this color?
