I'd choose the GT version for track use where I trailer the car. For every other purpose I'd choose the Turbo S. Few things make me lose more respect for car guys as when they try and convince me that Turbos are bloated cruisers. I drove a highly modified version of the last gen car, and it lifted the front wheel when I stomped of the throttle during a tight uphill corner. These cars are wonderful to drive.

Well that's a modded car but i don't think anyone feels they are bloated or cannot perform. They do LOOK bigger, especially the cabs (997 and 991) due to the rear vents and the big issue i have with them is they just do not sound like a performance car. But no way I am arguing performance, even 997.1 cars are animals.

I will say, there are a SHIT TON for sale on the used market vs the proportion that were sold, a 997.2 Turbo S is nearly easier to find than a 997.2 C2S.

It might not sound like a performance car but there is no arguing with the numbers.

Porsche claims 2.6 with sport chrono pkg. I guess they're done under-representing performance figures, at least with this model.

It's still 11 inches shorter and 200 lbs lighter than the G82.

A stock 992 turbo S traps around 138 as I recall so really only seeing 4 mph here. Of course that was a magazine test, but even the 991.2 turbo S trapped 133/134 mph.

I think it’s more like 300 lbs lighter. ~3600 for the turbo S and the RWD G8x is 3900 lbs. The AWD G8x is going to be 4100+ meaning a good 500 lbs heavier with way less hp even if the S58 is severely underrated.

It's amazing how easy and repeatable it is to launch the 911.

you can make almost any awd turbo dct run 9's these days.

rs3, gtr, mustang, supra or cts-v with a turbo and slicks. even a $130-140k 570s with tune and downpipes will trap 143. The GTRs and RS3s can get into the 9s under $100k all in easily... if that's your only goal.

It's true, but the Turbo will also kill it on the track and get groceries.

exactly. thats the dilemma

do you spend 200k on a turbo s ?

or 120k on a 997 gt3 manual + 80k on a modded RS3 dct ? and probably lose less on depreciation.

C/D tested the 992 Turbo S at 2.2 seconds to 60 and 10.1 (137mph) through the 1/4, however its unconfirmed if they used a rollout method for testing, still impressive nonetheless.

Faster, lighter, better handling, and more fun to drive than any EV.

Long live the internal combustion engine.

C&D standardized on a one-foot rollout in December 2019. The one-foot time is usually 0.2 or 0.3 seconds, so you are looking at a 2.4 or 2.5 second actual 0-60 time.

Both the 10.1 quarter-mile and 2.4-2.5 second time 0-60 is consistent with the results from Carwow's drag races.
