Gator quarterback Grier suspended remainder of the season and part of next season.
Positive test PED. Over the counter supplement he said. USC fired tequila man...fella has a serious issue.

^ Yeah interesting how quite a few people that are caught with PEDs, regardless of sport, says it is due to over the counter supplements. Yet, no matter how many times you hear it, people supposedly still don't check with the team medical staff before taking stuff.

First Sark gets the axe, then Spurrier retires effectively immediately...

Hell if I were on the team, I would take advantage of every staff and the stuff and advice they would give me for free, even if I were sick, the first preson I would go to would be a team doctor, not the campus doctor....

Maybe he wouldn't be where he was if he didn't do it. Who knows. However, he got caught and its gonna cost him and his team.

It's just a standard answer to say otc drug and the whole line. They can't very well say I was juiced up and taking Ritalin all day. Just diverting guilt from the team.

USC will be an attractive destination for whoever wants the job. They can only go up from here and it won't be hard with the top shelf talent on that team. With the right coach and staff, they will be contenders next year. Max Browne will be under center next year. First game against Alabama at Cowboys stadium.
People have been talking highly of freshman QB Sam Darnold(6'5" 215lbs dual-threat). He has been impressive in practice. He is the reason Ricky Town left for Arkansas. Odds to be USC's next football coach Kyle Whittingham, Utah - 3.5/1 Chip Kelly, Philadelphia Eagles - 6/1 Bryan Harsin, Boise State - 6/1 Tom Herman, Houston - 7/1 Justin Fuente, Memphis - 7/1 Clay Helton, USC interim coach - 8/1 Jack Del Rio, Oakland Raiders - 8/1 Chris Petersen, Washington - 9/1 Brian Kelly, Notre Dame - 9/1 Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M - 11/1 Gary Patterson, TCU - 11/1 Mark Dantonio, Michigan State - 15/1 Last edited by hellrotm; 10-13-2015 at 03:01 PM.. |

Wow, Kyle Whittingham finally getting his turn. I cannot see Brian Kelly leaving on his own.
Tom Herman would be an interesting choice

At the very least, NO ONE expected Michigan's program to turn around this quickly, let alone have BigTen title talks. If they continue to play like they have and consistently get better on offense, they can beat both MSU and OSU. |

subpar QB play minimum offense razor thin depth on both sides of the ball Harbaugh may have them playing well above their abilties, but they will be exposed, ESPECIALLY against good teams like MSU and Ohio State. I expect Michigan's games against MSU and Ohio State to be in the neighborhood of 42-20 type scores... Can ANY team beat MSU and OSU, sure of course, there's parity around CFB this year, but a 5-7, 3-5 football team from last year that actually LOST good players is just kidding themselves if they think they can win the Conf. Championship. We'll know by Saturday night how Michigan really stacks up.

How can you call both MSU and OSU good teams? Have you watched their games? They're severely overrated.
You make some valid points regarding Michigan. They lack depth, but that's what happens when you inherit a team. Rudock isn't very good, but he shown promise to control the game. And their running game has been pretty good to create some opportunities, but I think it's hard to criticize minimum offense when they keep beating teams by 3-4 TD's, including a blowout to a supposedly solid defensive team of Northwestern. Can it last? Who knows, but it makes for an exciting story, at least for most non-Michigan haters lol |

Who's your team? Closet Michigan fan I presume? When the game counts, Ohio State will beat any team in the country this year. btw, Rudock "controls" the game, that's just a way of saying he's playing not to lose the game....sure, a lot of college championship teams in the past had QBs in that position if you generalize it, but if you actually look at big throws or games they had to show up in, they did and made the plays that counted. Rudock is exactly the opposite, he plays not to lose the game, and the team is dependent on defense and an ounce of running game. And when you needed Rudock to throw 40 times a game, he'll throw interceptions. This is not a formula to beat Ohio State, you're going to have to score over 50 to beat us this year.

Not a closet Michigan fan at all - I'm an alumni and a huge fan. Just trying to have a fun, civil discussion rather than blow this thread up lol. You're right, no team has dominated thus far. It's an interesting year, but having close calls with Northern Illinois and Indiana, and giving up 28pts to a terrible Maryland team doesn't warrant a #1 spot IMO, particularly when Michigan State dropped two weeks in a row due to similar performances.
And not at one point did I say Rudock was good, but he has been improving. He's not going to be a great qb, but that doesn't mean he can't be effective on the field. He does miss a lot of big throws, but that's not necessarily an indication they can't win. And 50pts against us??? You haven't even thrown that up against terrible teams, let alone a top defense in the Big House. I know both teams will come to play though, which makes the rivalry so exciting. Like I said, this will be an interesting and fun week which I'm really looking forward to. |
