When you plug the USB cable in your Mac you might be asked if you want to use this device under MacOS or Windows. Select Windows. Then make sure Windows installed a driver for this device. It's a standard driver Windows can download automatically but if automatic updates are disabled it might not be able to do so. I have been using v2.93 on my Mac with Windows for months and it works great. |

Ended up installing Win 10 through Boot Camp and everything went smoothly. Guess there may be some compatibility issues on certain configurations with Parallels. Sound quality is amazing! |

Patrys or Nelson are you making a base kit now?

For informational purposes I would like to know for sure as I run into quite a few people that want the Helix 82dsp in a base system kit. Also are you putting together a speaker package. Last edited by ctuna; 01-23-2016 at 03:49 AM.. |

Not that I am aware of but it may be in the works. The Match harness was always available for base (stereo) models though. Should be, if I recall correctly, PP-AC13a.

It's still pretty much plug and play but more work is required to install the full harness. The Match harness is not complete and would require additional parts/wires. |

You should be able to do good business with that
Patrys You should be able to do good business with that
as that system is so terrible . Are you actually advertising that now? Have you got an aftermarket speaker package yet? Why couldn't you just use High Level Inputs? I would guess it would be a quality issue. |

Regarding the Match harness, I was just speaking in general with the PP82, not yours and not implying that the entire install is P&P.

I just finished installing mine in my E92 and must say I am very impressed by the improvement.
Not only is it louder but the sound is much more crisp and clear. I had already upgraded my front speakers to EPS components but they are only coming alive now. This system definitely sounds better than my F30 with HK. Many thanks to Nelson for the great service.

Looking for some guidance here. I know the Bimmertech doesn't work with L7 systems (well head units) due to MOST.
I am looking to replace my head unit with something like a 4100NEX, and of course in order to do that I will also need to rip out the OEM L7 Amp. Therefore, I could (in fact need) to use the Bimmertech or something like it to change out the headunit. My questions are - other than run new pre-amp out L&R from the headunit, what else do I need ? Car doesn't have BT, SOS, Nav, I-Drive etc, only a 450hp engine Has this been done on on E90 L7 speaker set up, does a 'calibration file' exist for this, and how do you handle the front center channel not present in HiFI configuration ? Custom wiring is no problem, just need to understand what is required. Thanks for any insight. |

A lot of here will say
A lot of here will say
forget about the center channel and upgrading the rear speakers. There is a lot of stuff you could use especially if you want to do your own tune. The unit they use is the Helix 82dsp . I would suggest you might want to talk to 6speed coupe about a complete system . If you have the money to spend you might consider a Helix 6 dsp and Jehnert doorboards. Can anybody tell me where to turn the gain up in the software?
I barely hear/feel the bass at all unless I turn it up loud. At medium volumes the bass is almost non-existant. I have BSW stage1 door speakers & tweeters along with Jehnert under seat subs. What's odd is that the stock tune that comes with the amp provides slightly punchier bass down low than Nelson's tune for the upgraded speakers.

I like what I'm reading. I have a 2013 335 with HiFi sound and have been looking for the best way to upgrade. The BimmerTech PP82DSP sounds like what I need. Right now my system is all stock. How would the stock HiFi with the BimmerTech PP82DSP amp compare with the stock HK 7 system sound quality wise?

Well I got mine up and running. I can say it s everything I was looking for. The sound is great, crisp and clear. I'm just a little worried about pushing it too far. But turn it up and sit back and I can feel the music along with the great sound. Maybe some day down the line I will upgrade the speakers but for now very happy with the sound quality of my system now.

What is the value of buying this for $100 more than a regular Match PP82DSP? How would it compare to say a JL XD700/5 in the MusicarNW kit?
Also aren't the rear speakers in the E90 driven directly by the head unit? Last edited by Yangorang; 05-01-2016 at 04:38 AM.. |

Bimmertech vs buying standalones.
Well the Bimmertech one comes with a tune and harness.
They also have some canned tunes for some of the aftermarket speakers and in the case of the base system they can reprogram your head unit for hi fi output . Since there base system solution is new and involves a complete harness to the rear I suspect it costs more. There is nothing wrong with the JL amps and I think Musicar sells the 82 dsp to. If you have enough time an knowledge to put a system together and tune it you should. How does it compare well 82dsp has dsp plus 8 channels at 55 watts but I think the base bimmertec setup uses only 6 you could go active on the front if you run some extra speaker wires to the front door tweeters. The Jl xd series has 75 watts a channel on the main channels but no dsp still its a good amp and that was the standard before the 82dsp came out. I am not in favor of the xd 700/5 unless you are not running the rear speakers and have the under seats on seperate channels in stereo . There are other xd amps that have more 75 watt channels if required. So the trade off is a more power vs dsp with time delay and a lot more eq power. If your talking abut the base system all the speakers are driven off the head unit . If not the base then there OEM amped. Also having quality speakers that will use the power properly goes a long way to creating a great sound . The musicar kits offer the option for the best speakers. they can add a dsp to but its not cheap, but none of the good sfuff is. Last edited by ctuna; 05-01-2016 at 12:06 PM.. |

I hope someone on here can help. I have a 2011 328i with the hifi. I recently got the bimmer tech amp. It is a plug n play the factory harness. It does not seem to be powering up. I have a Dynavin head unit and im not sure this is a issue. The factory amp works fine. Is there something I am missing?
