Disadvantages: Shifts quickly in drive mode (6th at 40 mph). The fan isn't required; however, you will run "slightly" higher temps than a set up without one. Definitely not outside the safe operating temp for daily driving though. |

Is the PPK flash anonymous like Cobb on your ECU? What im getting at: is there any worry about the PPK (software only) voiding a CPO warranty??

Now, the fact that it's BMW software, it's developed/tested by BMW, pretty much all the bugs/kinks are worked out of the current version. There are many members running the "self-flashed" PPK with no reliability issues (that I know of). So, voiding a CPO warranty, potentially... But, that's the risk anyone takes when modding a car outside of the BMW service center. With the other flash/device tunes, they don't change the software version like the PPK. So on the surface, an average individual would never know you have a tune. But, BMW also has the ability to trace down any changes to the DME tables (which is what those flash tunes do). But, at that point, you'd most likely be in the middle of trying to make an engine warranty claim and BMW trying to do some extensive research why you had a rod go through the side of the block. |

After 2012 there is a new DME unit that bmw started using if im not mistaken, this is what makes it harder to flash or remote code them, you check which DME you have, if you take a look at the MHD/Wedge Perf thread someone over there mentioned the differences, saying that 2013, needs bench flashing of the DME (Physically taking it out of the ECU box to flash it first), 2012 its a maybe, and 2011 you can flash with a cable whenever.

Finally got my n55 E91 working properly. the difference from a stock tuned dme vs the PPK is very noticeable. I would recommend getting it done. There was a bit of moisture out last night but the car definitely has bigger stones than before

I've been driving on my PPK for two weeks now and love it. The throttle response is great! Joe was great for this! I also did the Alpina flash at the same time, car is way different to drive

What means '' Dont flash if your car is after 2013 or got Update by Dealer after 07/2012! ''
I have a 2011 E90, but got my ECU reflash by the dealer last year for some work done on my fuel pump... Does it mean I can't flash it? |

Right now, the only limitation is that cars produced 2/29/2012 or newer requires the FSC from the dealer. However, if all you need to do is fix surging issues, you can update your DME with the last OEM software version with no issues. |
