Is it possible to buy the kit without the rotors and pads? Because I'm thinking about going with aftermarket rotors and brake pads.

if you are still looking how to convert the rears if you have the smaller drum, this is what you do. this is a quick and easy fix and works great. I have had mine for 2 years. Make sure to get the 338/324 disc combo, cross drilled with 2 ;piston rear calipers.

Yes, the description of the Brake Kits indicates that at least a 17" wheel is required (the 162's are 18").

Does this kit make a big difference performance wise in comparison to the stock kit?

Huge difference! Come up to Seattle and I will show you, add the steel braided lines too. It's better than my RS4 right now, honestly stated.

Easy, no expert but not bad. Also scroll up for e-brake conversion, a $40 job at the local muffler shop if u don't have a welder at home. So, in conclusion; a job done with a cold one in the other hand and a fat grin on your face when it's done! And yes e-brake work perfectly 1.5-2 years later.

Mark it and cut it with a grinder, or a torch or another metal cutting tool, and then just tack weld it as shown in pictures/link in earlier post.

hey, how did you get cross drilled in the front and back? Getbmwparts.com says the rear rotors of the kit are blanks?

That's Why you make sure to get the 338/324 combo, and confirm cross drilled from these guys. The 338/300 combo come with a blank rear, and I mean that in the best of ways! go easy on me but I think their site might need an update on this, this is what I asked for, and what I got for the price listed! And loving it obviously.
