It took 2 1/2 days to download (base BT connection) with the computer on permanently and took about 20 Min's to burn to a TDK +R DVD.
The disc works fine except it still tries to take me off route so until I have learn't it's idiosyncratic ways the Garmin550 Zumo stays with me to keep an eye on it!

Hi guys,

Newbie here, picked up a 9 month old 330D with Professional Nav last week.

I've downloaded the update but before I stick the disk in I have a couple of questions...

If I put the downloaded disk in will the system still work when I put my official 08 disk back in (for trips to the dealer etc)?

Has anyone had any problems with their nav after applying the downloaded disk?

Just doing a little impact assessment...

AFAIK BMW don't do camera updates, I use a Pogo Alert sat on the right side (and hardwired in) of the dash, not screen mounted.

yep your disc will work fine after the "modded" version.

Takes the normal 10 minutes or so to "update" to the old version is all.

BMW don't show Cameras but he modded discs referred to in the previous links do show speed cameras...

No, I was downloading at home...started it first thing in the morning.

As it turns out, I have downloaded, burned it to a few different discs including TDK +R DVD and it still doesn't work when I put it in the car

Has anyone tried to get the 7 Digit Postcodes on the new version yet? I have an old 2008-1 with the full 7 digit postcode if anyone is interested in looking at how they are put on and work. If someone is willing to have a look and try to put this on the new 1, i will send them the DVD as long as i get the new 2009 version with full postcodes in return once it has been done.

May be a daft question, but are you extracting the ISO image, or just burning the image to a DVD. Just done it myself and it seems to be working ok.

Hmm I could make myself look really stupid by answering the question lol.

TBH I don't remember extracting anything but then it was over a month ago I tried it. I think I tried to burn the ISO image using Nero.

I do remember having to use ISO/UDF or something on Nero because of the size of the file.

Unfortunately my laptop is fooked so I can't try again

I've downloaded the file. I've burnt it at 4x to a TDC DVD+R using Roxio but get te message 'Error reading disc'

I've tried burning 2 different discs - all the same

any help appreciated

and use a better quality DL disk try Verbatim

don't forget thet the reader in the car is designed to ONLY read pressed disks
