Sounds good. Will definitely come out to NJ/NY area in early spring. Too much snow during the winter

Also looks like I may be coming out to Chicago within the next couple of weeks for a Porsche tuning job. Perhaps we can hold another Taste Test day there as well!

I think so. I really depends on how many people come. By the looks of my PM inbox, we are going to have a big turn-out. So Mark (at MD) and I are going to be spending most of our times installing/uninstalling kits. But i'm sure we can get a car or two on the dyno if something is interesting enough

I'd be happy to do an install or two if that makes more time for some dyno runs.

+1000!
I'm right down the street and have been very interested in testing this tune out for quite some time now. . .
Only issue is Warranty!
I have a scheduled service coming up in like 2,500 miles or so.
If I run the tester tune, will it show up???
I've heard several tuners claim to be invisable or "footprint free".
I hoping this one is.
2008 335 BTW.
Not sure will progman i'm at. . .

When I got my oil changed at a friend's shop (PSI in Sanford, FL), they used a BMW computer to read all codes in my car and I am happy to say they found nothing (except for the ABS thing that happens when you dyno, not Procede related).

I've been taking my car too velocity factor over here in south Florida for installs and the owner has been trying to convince me to get a procede v3. But first I'd love for shiv to come down to sofla for this taste test! Any chance?

Wow, looks like a lot of interest in FL. Might be a good idea to have an event down here.

In my opinion yes - I did not do WOT stock until 1500 miles according to BMW instruction. When I did my oilchange at 17000 miles the oil was like new, probably because proper break in according to my tech at BMW.

From my experience, there is no need for break-in in modern engines. All that stuff is done at the factory. And tolerances these days are so good there isn't much mechanical break-in that needs to be done. In fact, I think there is more harm in going easy on and engine during an extended "break-in" period than there is driving it hard. I've always done the latter and my engines have always been strong and don't sip an drop of oil at the end of the day Of course, you may not want to run an endurance race the same day you pick up your car from the dealership. But we're not talking about that here.

Just do your first oil change at 1000 miles (NOT the BMW recommended 15,000 miles) and then every 3000-5000 miles after that and you'll be golden.

Of course, YMMV...

if you watched the BMW Super factory special on the HIstory or National Geopgraphic Channel, they show you the whole process of building a Z4M roadster. At the end after the whole car is complete, the final steps includes adding all the oils, fluids, etc.. and then the car is put on a roller/dyno type thing, and some guy basically sits in the car and redlines it through all the gears to make sure everything is working.

The guy describes it as "driving on air or on a cloud," since the car isn't moving yet he can floor it.

See you there tomorrow guys! Managed to round up a few more Rev2s (thanks to the few local customers who graciously donated theirs and were willing to wait until week for install!) I owe ya guys.

So if you decide to like what you feel and want to purchase a Rev2 on the spot, I will only be able to accept cash/money order on Sunday. Kinda inconvenient I know. But at least you'll get to drive away with the goods. Otherwise you'll get one shipped out to you a few days later.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Cheers,
shiv

just a reminder for those who are taste testing tomorrow: make sure you are running a quality premium fuel in your tank! No Arco or Safeway please . If you have any questionable fuel in there, fill the rest up with something good!
