Club racers are getting the far and middle garages
PARKING/GARAGES: All CR's will have garage space in buildings two (spaces 43-58) and building three (spaces 71-80), and the adjacent parking areas for rigs, trailer, RV's, etc (Garage spaces are first come first served, please coordinate accordingly). For those who don't already know, you can take your rig/car in on Friday evening and stake out your parking spot. We have made arrangements with the track to have the Sanction Office and Tech Garage open Friday night. Mike Hinkley will be available for tech about 6 PM on Friday.

Looks like students are stuck with the row of garages that aren't your favorite. It's probably going to be hot (at least hotter than the coast) and it'd be nice to get a garage/shade. Are any of you going to try and reserve one the night before (Friday night)? It seems that the track opens at 7am on Sat. If we show-up then, anyone know what our chances are? Also, are garages available for CCC students or just DS on track? I'm doing CCC on Sat and DS on Sun.

Only racers should be grabbing garages on Fri. I'd see a little bit too much self importance of a student that grabs a garage 12 hours in advance. The heat shouldn't be a big deal. We've seen worse. There should be tons of water on ice. And, we have new cars so have the AC on full blast at all times. (instructors love that shit) |

YES WE DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have the AC blasting when you pull up to your tent for your instructor to get in is a GREAT THING!!!!!!!! On any car with 300hp+ I usually have the student leave the AC on even when on track. However, with the 335, compared to an NA car (E46 M3, etc) I would probably say to leave it OFF while on track if its really hot, it just helps to heat soak the radiator, thus more potential for Limp Mode issues.

What we've done in the past, is one guy in the group will make the sacrifice and get there super early to snag a garage space, then EVERYONE park their cars outside close to the garage space and use the garage to set up if you need to work on the car, and to just relax and sit in relative cool shades. One year we even brought a big fan.

Looks like a scrap for the 30 or so garage slots available in building 1. I'll be there early but it really is not a big deal to be in a garage. Bringing an e-z up just in case you yahoos think different. Also, please be smart about what map you choose, last time I had 2 N54 cars go limp right in front me in different sessions. It can be a dangerous predicament - so please keep an eye on those IATs and oil temps.

Anyone have a map of the garages? I can never find a map of where the intructors are and where the students are suppose to go.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

you boys in D group better watch out! I spent lots of monies and I'll finally be fast. Only thing holding me back was tires. Not any more. I'm gonna win the Friday race. Saturday race. And... you guessed it... Sunday race too. When you see that monaco blue e90 drifting up behind you, don't worry about pointing me by... I already know. Peace!

You'll be able to find my car in Garage 59 or 60 and I'll be hanging out near the White tent most of the weekend. Except when the person renting my car is on track, I may be up in the stands.

Had a great day Friday at Buttonwillow. I must have got there a bit early, because there weren't any E90s parked over in designated area, but I did see a couple on the other side of the tower, so I parked there. I walked over there a few times, but missed you guys each time. The one guy with a 328 that was over there didn't post here, haha.
Did finally meet Nick at the end of the day though, so that was cool. Got a ride in my instructor's (Shannon) E92 M3 with slicks, which was very impressive! Also, it was good to get some criticism and helpful tips from him that improved my driving. He worked on maximizing the lines, and attack the curbs a lot more than I had been. There wasn't any timing, but I know that I was getting through some sections faster than I was previously. There seemed to be plenty of space out on the track, and everyone gave me point by's, except the yellow z06 :-/, so thanks a lot. And if you know the guy with the white E36 M3 in B group, tell him I'm sorry for getting so close in the off ramp and locking up right next to him. I was anticipating him to turn in a lot sooner than he did! didn't take a lot of pics because it was hotter than hell, but I did get some video, so I'll try to get some clips up soon. Hope you guys are having fun at Cali Speedway!! Last edited by mike-y; 05-30-2009 at 08:19 PM.. |

It is a rather boring section. Too bad we can't always run LS every weekend. Variety is kind of nice. I will say I would not want to instruct at the roval.
