interesting threat. the OPs attitude was just horrible tho, he was trying too hard to prove this "Robert" guy that he can bring him hell if he didnt oblige. they both had the same sense of "superiority". it was clear that the whole thing was a dead-end just by the first 2 emails.

all in all i wouldnt side with either of them. maybe just swing a tiny bit towards FP

While I was a suby owner (for 5 years) I heard nothing but good things about FP products, and I almost got one... but then I got two turbos instead

just read that whole thing. sucks for the OP, but i cant help but feel that the OP should of gotten straight cash instead of another turbo. or gotten another turbo with some sort of mutual monetary compensation.

We have had an issue with an FP turbo on a Subaru and Rob took care if it LIGHTNING quick. Things happen but all in all we have been VERY pleased with FP turbos and their reputation and performance numbers. If we were concerned about their reliability we would not even consider working with them. After all our reputation is on the line as much as FP's is.

Not to worry guys

FP red for evos seem to fail as well due to oil starvation...hm..
FP clearly didn't handle the situation imo.

I trust AMS. As for FP, the guy came at them with a major attitude (I'm an e-celeb, do it my way or I'll cost you bussiness), and tried to argue technical stuff way over his head. If his tuner agreed with him THEY should have dealt with FP and made their case.

Also, can't really expect them to cover FOD. They covered the second one even though it sounded like the tuners fuckup for not ensuring needed oil supply upgrades. Also, it sounded like the would have been willing to refund the second turbo(I assume that's what compromise meant), but the customer had an inflated sense of importance, and LITERALY tried to black mail them into a larger refund.

I wouldn't have done shit for the guy, and might have sued for blackmail to put him in his place.

I think FP handled their side of the issue pretty well. He tried to get a hold of him via the phone, and have a two way dialog, which is usually needed with something complicated like this. Instead he got a guy pretty much saying "no, after all this is resolved, i'm going to smear you in the forums, so i'd like to keep this in email".... This OP of the FP thread seems to be a wee bit of drama queen. Why else would he start out by giving his internet resume. Like, who does that?

Hey Eric! This is Okix on Evolutionm. All I can say is wow!!! As of last week I moved into a 335i coupe and just happen to stumble upon this thread. I can not wait to see the progress on this partnership with AMS and FP. You both are great companies with great products which speak results. Not just data.

As for the FP turbos....Im in! They have put us in the low 9's (possibly 8's in the next couple weeks) on a HTA3586 and have us trapping 145mph on a stock frame turbo on our EVO. We have not had one failure to date and when we sent the turbos to FP to check them over, they provided us with the best of service.

Again, Eric I would love for you to keep me posted on the progress of the project. Even though this is the last thing I need is a project car daily driver.

Glad to see you on board Tony! You have one hell of an EVO!

As far as where this is going, we are just waiting on the samples to come from FP. The second I get them we will put them on the car and tune them to see how they are doing. As soon as I know something you will

More like go to hell.

Let's stop playing with the stock turbos and get the big single snals on these cars.

If the bolt on turbos will produce 450-500 whp on pump that would be great with supporting mods, but what about the fuel system issue??! I dont know of any fuel upgrades?? Does anyone know the limit of the stock fuel system?? Fuel pump, injectors, fuel flow?

thats what kits are for

get some bigger snails and if needed create a kit where fuel is upgraded as well. i think thats worth $4k instead of messing with the stock turbo housing and still shelling out that much cash

The only thing I get from using the stock snails is to create the look of them still being stock, but with more power. A warranty issue maybe?

I would think though if your going to shell our the cash for modified stock turbos then I'm pretty sure your not worried about your warranty. Who really wants to be swapping turbos to take their car in for warranty work?
