You're just a child .

Wait till you're pushing 40 then you'll realise how people in their twenties treat you like you're some kind of coffin dodger from another planet!!

Hi All,
Just for reference here is a few quotes I've just had for my 330i - I am 33 with clean license and full NCD. All quotes below included business use, courtesy car, legal cover, protected NCD, breakdown cover, alloy & tint mods...

LV - £620
Tesco - £633
Privilege - £636
Aviva - £648
Axa - £704
Admiral - £751
Virgin - £776
Zurich Connect - £814
RAC - £958
Endsleigh - £1063

I am currently with Swiftcover, and although very cheap I don't like the wording in their policy, so was looking for a different but reputable insurer this year - needless to say I went with the LV quote at £620 (total excess = £400). Hope this may be useful for some of you !

Exactly the same here

Swiftcovers wording worries me too, especially on more expensive cars.

LV look like a very solid option.

Hi Toxic

They say...
- We may choose to repair your car with recycled parts, where appropriate.
- Parts used may not have been made by the car's manufacturer but will be of a similar standard.
- If your car is damaged, we will use one of our recommended repairers to repair it. If you choose not to use them, we may not pay more than our recommended repairers would have charged and we may choose to settle the claim by a financial payment. (Basically we will use our own repairers and charge you for using BMW or give you under the odds).

These alone put me off and are very fundamental to a car insurance policy. The thought of have recycled or 3rd party parts on a decent and fairly expensive car is madness, let alone fitted by cowboys.

Insurance has gone up a lot this year, 32 yrs old, clean license, full NCD on a 320d SE re-mapped is £530 cheapest without protected NCD.

Gone with Greenlight in the end (Highway) - for £550 with NCP protected...that's like the cheapest! Madness I would say...

Mine's gone up about £40 which is annoying - it's meant to go DOWN as you get older - one of the few benefits of ageing!

£460 with BMW insurance for me and my wife (named) - me 35, her 32, 6 years (full?) NCB, IAM driver, about as safe a postcode as you can possibly get.

Quotes ranged from £420 (Swiftcover) to £580. I wanted "good" insurance so renewed with BMW.

Insurance on the Jimny (in wife's name) is almost free!

after a lot of hard work, drum roll... £730 boom!

25, 4yrs no claims (protected), 1 accident, no mods...

pretty pleased with that, and should be around £500 next year with no accident on there. wooo!

yes.

no single insurance company is 'cheaper' it's different for everyone, so just gotta ring round and play them off for your business.
