Hey Digi, that's a good comment, I was notified my car would disembark at NY. And my SA keeps tellling me the car arrived at port on 11\26. On the other hand, another member here, liquid, also is in Fla and has his car already. Thanks for the remark though.
Hey Indian, if you punch the correct numbers and your car does not show on the vessel, is because is not on board any ship yet. Keep looking, it will appear when car is onboard. Good luck |

Liquid, ohh, tought you had it. Well we are partners of the same pain lol...... I ordered from South Motors BMW. This evening I spoke to the SA , he told me the same that the 1800 number told me in the morning, car is still at VPC\customs (??). Said is supposed to be released tomorrow, after that, other 4-5 days until reaching the dealer.
Then is confirmed, delay is because this are ED's, I suppose they go trough a different customs inspection that takes longer. Have you talked to your SA to find out ?. Probably is the same status. Good luck, hope tomorrow we have news. and you are tired of driving your accord, lol............ I am driving a 1996 Miata since June!!!, |

Digi, well... confirmed per my own assumptions, because liquid did ED also and is in s. florida and still waiting for the car.God almighty forbids something else like damage is delaying the cars or software updates. And yes, this is the worst wait, you know your car is here but have no damn idea where, and when you see other guys received their cars that came on the same vessel then you start to get paranoid. Probably our cars were at the end, like the baggage on a plane, is question of luck who gets their bags first, lol.

Here's one of mine. Hey, haven't been to the garage or driven the car today...but I'm going to after walking the dog. Maybe I really will keep driving the Nissan! (see the white Maxima in the background?)

Lliquid, sure, you can call the ED 800 number, 1-800-932-0831. What your SA tells you ?. Man, this is crazy, I want my car, now, I'm going bananas on the Miata, lol. Good thing is I will feel in heaven once I start driving my baby.

Sorry guys, i haven't been on the forum since i got my car. I am just speechless, the only thing that is driving me crazy is the amount of brake dust i get on my rims. but I love everything else about it. I will try to post some pictures of my beauty later on. I just wanted to know how you guys were doing on your delievery.

I've been cleaning my wheels every 2 days. Winter is really about to set in soon though and keeping your car clean during the winter in New England is a joke. I'll probably take it through the touchless after large storms to keep the salt off and clean the undercarriage. Then I'll put it in my garage and let the wheels cool off for a couple hours. Then I'll go out and clean the wheels and do a minor detail on the outside and clean inside the doorjams etc...

BAH!!! I'm gonna go crazy!! My dealer gave me false hopes of my car arriving today for pickup tomorrow. And he sounded soo sure too. I must confess that I had deep dreams of driving my car last night and awoke this morning with a stomache full of anxiety. I've been calling my SA all day but to no avail. He's quoting for Monday pickup now. Soooo close but no cigar. =(
BTW, does dealer prep work take a long time? What exactly does it involve? Can I do it myself? And is the service dept. usually open on saturdays? I'm really pushing for tomorrow as I planned to spend a beautiful sunny Sunday with her. |

Don't worry Digi, that happened to me last Thu., on 11/30--CA said thought it'd be ready Thu. night. But got that call first thing Fri. morning, decided to p/u on Sat. morn. Prep is fairly quick, couple of hours. You'll get your car, hang in there...all kidding aside, in retrospect, I know believe each part of the process is trying to deliver the vehicle asap. I was worried about the VPC being the holdup, but as you see, some of us got our cars within 4-5 days of being unloaded from the ship. You'll be singing a different tune next week.
Ditto on brakes. My car only has 280 miles, and my rims are covered with brake dust! They look more anthracite now, not silver, I thought it was weird but my friend said BMWs are like that. Is everyone used to the red lighting yet?? |

My car is in! Just can't get to it cause it's locked behind their gate and the lot keeper left this morning. It's beautiful though!!! Monday it is then... Thanks John for the reassuring words. Are the lights red red? I thought they were kind of an orangish red. Somehow they don't seem as fire engine red as I had in my acura rsx type s....it maybe just the photo though..John, you're killing me with all your pictures....lol, j/k.

Digi, very cool.....welcome to the club! Let us know how you like iDrive. Yesterday we went on a trip and sure enough, would have been nice to have navi instead of working off of hand-written directions....car continues to avg. 27.3 to 27.4 on the highway-only portions of driving, with mph varying from 60-75 or so. I'm pleased with that but hoping to hit 29 someday....since she's up to 450 mi now she's going to rest today while I take the Maxima on another road trip!
Tell us how your delivery goes tomorrow and post some pics! Good luck. |
