What's up everyone? Sorry to make everyone all anxious, these past few weeks have been nuts. Didn't have the greatest planning for the Boulder dyno day, so I'm hoping to make this dyno day more organized.

I have Shiv scheduled for the DC dyno day on the 2nd and 3rd of March. As soon as I've confirmed that everyone has paid, I'll post the total of Shiv's travel expenses (Plane ticket, hotel, rental car, etc). In the mean time, if all those involved in the dyno day could PM me their First and Last name, so I can confirm that you are all paid up.

Thank you all very much, feel free to contact me with any questions.

As I am now unable to go to this event, there is now a slot open for someone. If anyone wants it, please claim it. If no one does, be assured that I will still pay for my "cut" of Shiv's travel expenses.

even with two people out, we can not add more people on the list.
7 people for one day tuning is already pushing to the limit. thanks

It's Saturday right? So now we can get them all done in one day and not have to do the Friday night pre-install thing?

Mar 2nd or 3rd?

Is it Friday March 2nd, or Saturday March 3rd?

I would think it would be best to still try and install all or most of the Procede units Friday to make for a smoother Saturday but I'm game for either.

If there are going to be 7 cars, Shiv says he can tackle all of them on Saturday no problem.

Is someone picking Shiv up from the airport? or is he renting a car?

I can also do non-dyno PROcede installs the next morning for those who want to get tuned but couldn't get a time slot on the dyno (which is really just for fun anyway). If you are interested, just PM calvin so he can get you on the install-only list.

See you guys next weekend!
cheers,
shiv

Sounds good Calvin. I believe we had it worked out where we could pick him up from the airport, but I will let aznevoviii confirm that. We had a few people that offered and that live close by, so I don't think it would be a problem.

When and at which airport would he be flying into?

Update to Shiv's post. What it looks like is: Anyone that is interested in Install only, that will happen Friday Evening. If you are interested please PM me and I will start a list for those people.

Shiv will be flying in to IAD, so anyone that can pick him up please let me know, his flight arrives at 4:30pm.

Here is a break-down of the travel expenses:
$480 air ticket + 170 hotel = $650 / 7 participants = $90 per person.

If there is any issue or you need to make other arrangements, please let me know ASAP, otherwise I am adding the $90 to your current invoices.

I have some comments...

1) Communication from Vishnu was great in the beginning, but really dropped off as time went on. My multiple posts and IMs to Shiv and Calvin went unaddressed. I finally got some answers when phoning Calvin earlier this week.

2) This event was planned in advance so there was roughly two months time to purchase airfare. Waiting until the week before to buy the plane ticket unfairly increases expenses for the rest of us. Yeah, it probably ends up being ~$30 per person more, but we have better use for that money.

3) The 4:30pm arrival is practically in the middle of rush hour traffic here. It will probably take an hour and half to get to John's place in Maryland, maybe more if Shiv wants to grab a bite to eat on the way. Others will have to slug through the congestion to get there by ~6PM. I had to bargain with my manager to take Friday off only to discover that I don't have to now. And will we even have sufficient lighting to do the installs in the evening?

4) I originally volunteered to pick Shiv up for a Dulles Airport arrival so I will go ahead and do that.

Sorry to seem like a whiny bitch, but this could have gone a lot better. Please don't say I should be grateful to Shiv for even coming out at all. My gratitude is expressed through paying full price on the PROcede unit, chipping in for his traveling expenses, and providing door-to-door transportation. Shouldn't some kind of group discount be offered in a volume purchase like this? I just accepted the costs for what it was, but it's kinda unnerving as the price inches up. I've said my peace. Thanks.

I'll be happy to take care of transportation myself. Frankly, I'd rather have my own trasportation, at my expense, than to hitch ride with others who have their own schedules to deal with. And as Calvin pointed out in his post, we don't need to do installations the night before with only 7 tuning slots. We can take care of installations on Saturday itself, while the car is being strapped down. The Friday install session was for other people who PMd me privately about not being able to get in to the dyno day on Saturday. This is my attempt to take care of them to the best of my ability and install and test the kit myself (without a dyno).

As for cost, our normal in-house tuning fee is $250 per hour plus $100 for installation. We basically waive $350 per car and work/travel on weekends to make these dyno days happen. Of course, dyno day folks end up paying $50-100 for travel exp. and another ~$100 or so for dyno time at the shop. But this still works out to be a bit less than normal pricing. We're really doing what we can to make this happen at a price that is fair to customers.

Honestly I was expecting to pay an additional $200+ for my portion of Shiv's travel etc... $90 each is a steal.

IMHO what we will all leave with is worth far more than any one of us are paying.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing Shiv and the 335's in action. Lets all get in and out safe and sound and enjoy the weekend!

Yeah, $90 isn't bad at all. Yes, it could have been a little better if we could have booked a little earlier, but with the PROcede basically just coming out I just assumed the Vishnu gang has been really busy with all that.

But, the timing of the DC day was just about perfect I think.... the PROcede basically just came out so we're basically gonna be amoung the first people to to get them. To me that's pretty cool.

Looking forward to seeing everybody there!
