And come to think about it, now I might have even more trouble-I've been running with 201 for a few weeks, but now I have to see if when I reinstalled the AP manager and re-updated the AP from scratch without checking beta firmware it might have deleted my factory setup! (Hopefully not)
So something changed, when I first got the unit I did everything as instructed, checked beta firmware for the 07, everything was fine until I connected to get the 202 maps last night |

I updated to the 93 octane standard throttle 2.02 map and I have to agree it's perfect. However, I have the mods in place for stage 2 so let's get crackin' on that and use the above mentioned map as the foundation
OR get the pro tuning done and I'll do it my damn self |

Guys, I have a 2007 BMW, Built in August.
Should I attempt to switch to V2.02 tomorrow? Or will I possibly come into an issue? I'm happy waiting a week, 2.01 felt fine to me, modulate throttle and the boost builds.. Smooth and nice I'll need to plug this unit into my car to double check what ECU number I have correct? Then download the map from the site, load it onto AP manager and drag it onto my AP? |

As for the people having the "lack of boost" feel of the new V2.02 v2 I just wanted to say that I tried the V2.02 Standard Throttle Mapping and think that it's very similar yet smoother than v2.01. I'm sticking with V2.02STM as it's just as responsive in boost progression as v2.01 with added smoothness and refinement. Give it a try if you don't like v2.02 v2.

V2.02 standard is fabulous! It is more refined then 2.01 but still gives you great grunt down low, as well as good power with little throttle use. I am incredibly happy with the tune!

Thank you to all for the feedback! There is always room for improvement with our off-the-shelf maps and it sounds like we've got a few little things to try to work on as part of our next map update. Thanks again...enjoy, be safe and have fun!

I was working at couldn't call until now, and it's after hours so I'll call tomorrow. I sent an email yesterday but got no response. This thread showed that you're aware of it so I thought an answer might show up, and I thought others might try to update and get the same problem-maybe someone reading could connect and report what happens(?)
So as it stands, I'm connected to AP manager with check for beta firmware not checked, and it says I'm up to date with the latest firmware. Which would be fine except for '07's you're supposed to have check for updates on, the way I did it when I first got it. But now every time I click check for beta firmware the AP gets stuck on updating, then error report. Furthermore, if I uncheck beta firmware, then click update again, it downloads everything and then it seems fine - I get the message that I have the latest firmware, the AP has a normal screen again, not stuck on update anymore. Here's what it says after unchecking beta firmware: AP-BMW-001 v1.6.3.2-1405 Serial: 295 (INSTALLED) Vehicle: USDM BMW N54 (I8A0S) Maybe I have to look at AP Manager on my Mac and see if the file structure, etc has changed. I reinstalled the application since this started, and if it hasn't happened with any other 07's maybe that's where the problem is- |

I have a quick question. Why update firmware, even though maps are not changing? Is it recommended to uninstall and reinstall Cobb every time there is a firmware update. I'm running 2.02 std 93 octane on my 2007.

Just updated to latest beta firmware and then flashed 2.02 STD on my 07. No issues and flash went quick! Time to test drive!

Anyone else go back to 2.01? I used 2.02 standard for a while, but I like the throttle response of 2.01 better.
I was used to driving with a sprint booster on my E55 AMG, and 2.01 is really close to that feel. COBB = Awesome!! - Now the wait for stage 2. |

Did you get this issue resolved yet? I'm still waiting for a fix. They told me to wait to see if they can fix it without having me to send in my AP. I'm really missing my AP. |

What are you using PC or Mac? Also are you having the same symptoms where you check beta firmware and it gives you an error?

It's not necessary to uninstall and reinstall upon a firmware update unless that release includes major functional code changes. I updated my AP handheld firmware first, then manually added the new maps. A single 4-minute map change was all that I needed to update my car to 2.02. |
