So I got my car back and noticed the following:
1. VR works (Mine is a 335i sedan 9/06 production picked up on ED 11/1) 2. RTTI does not work. I see TI and no +. The Traffic Info screen either says "No messages" or is stuck at "Transferring data" 3. Here is the really weird thing. When I picked up the car, I saw the little exclamation mark on the display and idrive complaining about moonroof anti-trap function being deactivated. I was mad coz I had particularly called my SA an hour before I went to pick up my car and had asked him to check everything and this must have been obvious. Anyway the sunroof was behaving weird - it would move only up and down (not front or back) and only in increments. Also when moved down it would go below the level of the roof! Anyway I did some searching and found this: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...highlight=roof. I did not have to do the whole procedure - i just had to hold onto the sunroof button like keep pressing it like I wanted it to tilt and after 20 seconds the system just reinitialized itself - sunroof opened fully and then closed. Now everything seems to work. I still have to try the pinch protection though (tomorrow morning). One other cool thing I found was I can now cycle to AUX using my steering wheel buttons. I remember distinctly that I was not able to do that before. |

Keep the car in radio mode on - start the car without foot on brake (for auto) Push the sunroof button in (like you are trying to tilt it). Hold it there for like 20 seconds. The sunroof will reinitialize - it will open and close all by itself. Now everything should be alrite. Good luck! |

I tried the dvd swap trick to get RTTI to work tonight. It didn't work
I may try again, as my friend has 2 dvd discs, but right now it doesn't work. For my friends in the SF bay area, use www.511.org till a fix is figured out! |

I have a 10/06 production 335i. Will my local BMW dealer do this upgrade under warranty, or do I need to make up some excuse about something not working properly? I would really like to have the POI search feature. My wife has this in her Lexus, and until now I thought this was a major weakness of idrive.
Also, I live in the SF Bay Area - anyone have a recommendation for a dealer who is more accommodating on such things? Sorry if this has been discussed before. .. . |

2 days after my update to what I assume was v25 04, I checked my oil service status and it showed 11,000 miles. The last time I'd checked (a week before), it was 15,000. There are lots of factors that might have caused the change, but it certainly is an interesting coincidence. Anyone else seen this after a recent update?

Hello from the UK..
I have a 130i, with the i-Drive system. I'd like to get the software updated to the same revision as you reference here to overcome sluggish operation and slow boot-up, along with the new graphics :-) My question is : Where do you guys get the SI B information? is it a BMW NA resource or global. I.e. is there information on the E87 (a car obviously not available in the US) Thanks in Advance. |

The only way I can get an update is to pay for an oem alarm to be installed, my car came with v.20 which is incompatible with the siren, so I'm waiting for a totally stable version before committing to the work. So what I'm trying to say here is, I don't think you'll have much luck with the American service bulletins outside of the country, you could certainly try, but each country seems to be operated somewhat differently in terms of the dealer network policies.

I'm not sure if this is a 325i/330i or 328i/335i thing or simply coupe vs sedan. |

I got my E92 328xi coupe back after getting the ProgMan update and an alarm installed this weekend.
VR doesn't work RTTI doesn't work (same symptoms as fidozoom) Cannot toggle alarm chirp (menu option not available) Dealer is submitting a case to BMW. Till then, I'm anxiously awaiting the next version. The POI search is worth it, and now I'm learning how to manually do functions I previously used VC for.

well i was trying to be precise by saying 335 sedan. As far as I know all sedans - 335 or 325 or 328 from 2006 onwards are E90s. All coupes -335 or 328 from 2006 onwards are E92s. E90 or E92 only indicates body styles not engines.
