I'd say that I'm a big fan of the film, and I named my dog Kingsley Zissou (and I made a custom Team Zissou tag for him)-

What were the last production worthy autotune maps? 12-17? I need to go back to some version that works well with this freaking heat. My car just wont play well with 5-10 and I know that 3-30 works well, but not sure if it takes into account the summer heat. Just got new Turbos and solenoids etc, so I am a bit paranoid about anything that might have a detrimental effect on these twins.

Yes 12-17 was the last "stable" autotuning maps. You could just lower the boost settings on the 5-10 maps if you wanted to keep running them though.

I'm running 12/17 and never bothered with 3/30, 5/10 or 5/25. I really want to try those DIC maps but all issues stop me. One downside with 12/17 is that 'autotune' seems to be more of a 'detune'. Therefore, I reset it every so often. Another thing I noticed is that I get a little wastegate rattle with Procede engaged and nothing when its disabled. That's with brand new wastegates BTW.

I'm having the same problems on 3-30 DIC. No wastegate rattle at all in Map 0. Map1 rattles like crazy, immediately after I switch maps.

Interesting. My car ran well with 3-30, but runs like crap with 5-10. It just feels coarse at the edges, and if I go WOT it starts misfiring like crazy and then goes into limp mode. I think its the BMW software version I am on. I think in the end I just want the best tune for my new Turbos, and that appears to be autotune. The 3-30 run well, but without autotune and the nasty summer heat, I am more likely to run map 0, and turn it up at night with lower temps.

Have you tried adjusting your wastegate setting in user adjustable menu?

Just run the boost and IC you normally ran in the summer last year? You can verify if its safe via a log.

Yeah I tried all kinds of settings. Doesn't seem to affect the rattle, went down to 50%. I'll install 5-10 later today to see if that helps. Also e-mailed Shiv.

I just drove a long way on the stock map today, no rattle at all.

Thanks.

Did you try going up to 100%?

I had rattle at the default 90%, so i tried 70, 50, down to 30 and still had rattle. Then I tried 100% and the rattle was gone.

You need a dealer visit to correct the waste gate rattle?
I had it replaced last year by the dealer. If you warranty is out, you might need to adjust it or have a shop adjust it for you.

So are the 3-30 maps or the 12-17 maps the strongest in terms of how quickly boost ramps up? These 5-10 maps are totally lame. My car feels freakin' stock now if I don't stomp on it.

Already adjusted the rear wastegate. Like I said, there is no rattle when running a stock map. I ran through an entire tank of gas and couldn't get the wastegates to rattle once driving the piss out of the car on map0. As soon as I switch to map1 the rattlefest begins. Even sitting at idle I can hear them chattering away.

Thanks.

I have been lazy to go update it, and since I was just in for a bunch of stuff I am holding off. I just run map 0 it works best in my car. I'll go back to probably 12-17 maps when I have time and long drive coming up. Hopefully new version of maps comes out soon though.

Yeah, no need to go to the dealer. Your, and my, wastegates are just fine. Problem is somehow related to the tune.

I just drive in Map 2 mostly. Whenever I cruise downtown (slow traffic, many people, and brick walls), I switch to Map 0 as to not cheapen the image. lol.
