They are not held up by tape. These simply plug and play to the housing. These are 18 LEDs which results in a more EVEN spread of light and slightly brighter than the 12 LEDs.

how tough is it to replace all the bulbs in the car? for those that have purchased is there a notable difference/is it worth the purchase? Seems like a good investment

Is there a difference? Absolutely there is! lol Look at pictures on the home page. That actually is how bright my car became. No joke! This package does make it MUCH brighter then the stock bulbs and they are not that hard to replace, about 15 minutes of work, and just because the two top dome pieces are a bit harder to remove then everything else. Hope this helps. I will try to finally post some pictures today maybe, but would have to wait until it gets dark lol
