For some reason the 800 # now tells me that "My car is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel"...

I called my CA. He said the port told him "he'd have the car around 6/7. That seems a little long for a car going from Jersey City to Long Island. No?

"The current status of your 2007 ..... is - Retail"

I called the 1-800 number, it tells me that my vehicle is in transit.

I show "En Route"

the 800 number says "At the Port Awaiting a shipping vessel"...which is amazing because yesterday it said En Route as well.

I think if I remember, some time back somebody said that "Retail" meant it was in dealer stock...so it's possible it's on your CA's lot.

It seems "retail" only means the car has been reported sold to BMWNA for warranty purposes. It has nothing to do with delivery status. What a buzzkill.

I wish there was a better way to track a car through the VPC.

I was told that my dealer with have the car on the 7th and i'll be able to pick it up on the 8th...

He said it is possible he'll have it sooner, but the 8th is the safest bet.
