So I was able to change the blinks from 3 to 5. But there is an unwanted side effect, in that value TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE (which is for DRL) is set to aktiv. I don't want them on.
I figured its got something to do with editing the NETTODAT file. It only happens when I do this particular coding. Anyone have any ideas on how to change the blinks from 3 to 5 and keep the DRL off? Thanks.

Is the value for 5 blinks 37 or 17?

easiestt way to get it done is use ncs dummy then disammble your daten file.. (frm/nfrm) look for this value MIND_ANZ_ZYKL_TIPP_BLK then change the data on it to any blinks that you like 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 |

I figured out my problem; DRL_V_GEDIMMT was aktiv. Once I turned it off, the DRL went off and I have 5 blinks! yay! (btw, using value 37).

FYI to all, after coding this change, you have to remove the key, then put it back in for the change to be seen. It was mentioned in the video above, but I thought I'd add it to the thread. |

I managed to get this working in my 2009 335i sedan. Apparently the location of the value that needs changing depends on which key you are using at the time of coding. I've got 2 keys and apparently I'm using the 'second' key. For those with newer e90s, you need to pull the NFRM module from CAS using NCS Expert, and then change the appropriate values in the NETTODAT file.
Original line in my NETTODAT.TRC: Code:
B 00341500,0010,28,27,28,27,28,27,28,27,96,2C,28,27,00,00,00,00 Code:
B 00341500,0010,28,27,28,27,28,27,28,27,96,37,28,27,00,00,00,00 |

- NCSExpert initially defaulted to FRM3_E89.C08 - After "Process ECU" it read FRM3_E89.C31 and I copy/pasted that into a txt file. Then along the way NCSExpert somehow now reads FRM3_E89.C32. How did I get from C31 to C32? I certainly didn't do any kind of WinKFP or Tool32 stuff, just NCSDummy/Expert. |

When I "Process ECU" it identify in my car as FRM2 and then once I "Read Ecu" it comes back as FRM3. |

While I can't give you the technical reason why it changes between "process ECU" and "read ECU" it's not because there's a issue with the software. It just does it. The module you read after the "read ECU" command is the correct module and the one to use for coding.

Sorry if I missed this but do you need to do this for each of the keys that are programmed to your car? I have an 09 328i, and I can program each key's preferences to either 1 or 3 blinks, if I use key "A" and change 3 blinks to 6 what happens when I use key "B"?
