I've tried one and found I'm not a big fan of short triggers. Just my opinion.

Back from the dead..

I finally decided what I wanted, and picked this beauty up.

I have Hogue finger groove grips, Bedair stainless steel guide rod, Wolff recoil and hammer springs on the way as well.

Sig P226, .40sw, limited edition satin nickel finish, Siglite night sights, 12rd mags, etc..

That is beautiful! Make sure you clean up the magazines before you use them though. They are overly oiled from the factory.

My goals for the hand gun is to a gun that is a good all around gun:

1) Accurate
2) Comfortable
3) Good For Self Defense
4) Fun To Use For Rec Shooting
5) Good for Carry & Conceal

Whats everyone that has one have? Also if you where to have just one what would you get? and what caliber ?
.50 cal desert eagle. Meets criteria 1,2,4. Not sure about 3, thank God. Number 5? Not a chance!

Yeah Sig likes to deep fry their mags before packaging.

I always field strip and clean every gun when I get them home.

Nice! The 226 was my second choice to my H&K. It was a little more money and it didn't feel quite as comfortable in my hand in the H&K. In any regards I'm sure you'll be pleased with it's performance and you can't go wrong with .40SW in any respect.

My next pistol might be "The Judge"

Imagine firing a combination 45 Colt and a 410 buckshot out of a revolver. Pretty sick.

Damn that's pretty dope.

Next to a 12ga, that's probly the best thing I could think of for home defense. Alternating #4 shot and hollowpoints should dispell any threat pretty quickly. Decent price too.

Dammit, I haven't even shot the Sig yet, and I'm already thinking about what to get next..

One of these would be pretty cool. In .41mag, 8.5in ported barrel.

I never liked the grip on those.^ Made an otherwise berserk looking gun a little diminutive. I'm sure the design has a purpose though.

Yeah, I started looking at different grips right away.

Yup, no problem. I had considered the 9mm, but figured if I ever feel the need I can always swap the barrel and mag and shoot 9mm from it.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I had heard that Sig isn't making the standard two-tone anymore. They're just going to offer the Equinox in a couple different versions.

If that's true, that may have been the reason for the long wait. Either way, they should have contacted you to work something else out. Waiting months for a two-tone p229 is rediculous.

Elk size paper maybe..

At least I'm not looking at the .500mag, that thing is a little cartoonish. Although if a herd of hippo's come running through my condo it might be nice to have.

You think that will fly with the gf?

Two classics, cant go wrong with either.

Add a Remingon 700 and a 1911 and you've got the 'standards' pretty well covered.
