hey guys hopefully someone can point me in the right direction to get this going.
I followed all the instructions precisely as indicated step by step. I have all the software working and running but when I go to open INPA I'm not presented with a option to select the E89 Chassis. I've copied over all the necessary DATEN files as specified in the instructions so i'm not sure what I'm missing here. Any help would be great! ::EDIT:: Got it all figured out nevermind Last edited by SPJR; 10-29-2014 at 02:54 AM.. |

So, then you don't need to re-install Windows halfway the proces, like described in the first post of this thread?
BTW: It was your post. I was curious if there was anyone else that succesfully used that procedure Like if this is system specific (Win7 Home <-> Win 7 Ultimate or Win XP...) Last edited by dutch79; 12-07-2014 at 07:41 AM.. |

(on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bits)
The setup.exe in step 3 of the installation of INPA (NFS) gives an error 'parameter not correct'. Is my download (vaska85) corrupt or so..? Annoying, because the initial download of 808AWD325xi was so slow / incomplete that it was also not usable... edit: this error was the result of my files that were located on a network drive. So be sure the files are all on the local hard drive. Now on the setup of INPA I get this error 105: followed by: edit: the local files were in C:\temp and not in the root. Another thing to notice! Additionally: I also had to reboot my system between install and re-install of INPA to be able to avoid the ActiveX-errors. Last edited by dutch79; 12-09-2014 at 08:04 AM.. |

Can you specify what steps are different in this procedure compared with the description of 808AWD325xi? Last edited by dutch79; 12-09-2014 at 10:26 AM.. |

Plug in cable and install drivers Import DATENs using BMW Coding Tool Done. No restart needed. If you have 64 bit OS, then you need to obtain 64 bit NCS Expert separately. If anyone has problems and would like a remote install, shoot me a PM. |

But then you have an German version and not English, right? This was descibed in the first post ('bootstrap of 5.0.6):
"This DIY describes how to capture the latest English metric INPA scripts and configuration files from INPA 5.0.2 and manually integrate them along with SP Daten 50.2 for a fully functional installation of BMW Standard Tools 2.12. This approach is necessary for 3 reasons. 1) BMW Standard Tools includes INPA, but it does not contain any INPA scripts or configuration files. 2) The latest INPA scripts are in German which is why we preserve the English scripts from INPA 5.0.2. 3) The latest SP Daten files are German metric and do not work properly with INPA 5.0.2 and friends." ... "Blow away your previous installation of Windows and start over with a fresh install. INPA 5.0.2 and friends made changes to the Windows registry, etc. Now that we have the two folders needed to bootstrap INPA 5.0.6, it's best to reinstall Windows." |

I'm not 100% sure where to grab the English version, as it was just provided to me. So when I do remote installs, I already have it. Once the files are transferred to the machine, it's less than 20 min for a complete install. Regardless of Windows version.

Thanks for these instructions, it's a bit of a minefield coming back to all this after doing it a few years ago. Loads of broken links to downloads, and not trusting torrents to be complete etc. I managed to get DIS all up and running and working a few years back, so thought coming back and just setting and INPA and NCSExpert would be nice and straightforward, as I'm hoping to do a bi of basic coding.
I followed this guide, but I'm getting the same error message at the step where you have to copy and paste files from the SGDAT and CFGDAT folders from 5.02 that were put onto an external disk. The message says "'C:\' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. The code doesn't seem to want to work, so I used windows explorer to carefully copy and paste the correct files over. I copied over the .ENG and .IPO files successfully, however in my backed up CFGDAT and SGDAT from 5.02 I do not have any .SRC or .TXT files at all to copy? I've just re-read the thread and noticed someone else had this same problem, and I wonder if it's something to do with the fact that I upgraded from 3.01 to 5.02 while retaining some of the useful quick test functionality of 3.01 than normally gets lost when upgrading to 5.02? Is it possible to get hold of just the missing .SRC and .TXT files, or are they not essential? I didn't want to carry on with the remainder of the guide if missing these files is going to screw things up further down the line and i have to restart from scratch? |

OK I've continued to the end of the guide as the previous issue with the missing src and txt files didn't seem to affect the rest of the procedure. I got to the very end, but where the guide says "Copy the NCS Expert profiles to the C:\NCSEXPER\PFL folder." where abouts are these NCS Expert profiles that I am supposed to copy to the PFL folder?

OK apologies, i re-read the whole thread again and found the link to the NCSExpert profiles that need downloaded and copied into the PFL folder. However, my missing .SRC and .TXT files query remains if anyone can help?

Huge Thank you
First guide that has given me an installation that does exactly want it say on the tin! AMAZING WORK 808AWD325xi. I am so glad I took a look at what you E90 guys are up to. I was an E90 but am now E60
For E60 I just substituted the datens where applicable. I also installed to WinXP rather than Win7 with no problems. Thank you again. |
