I have, they are still working on it. It's a small firm and this wasn't the first project in queue.

I understand. A very interesting product, glad to see someone tackling this issue. This could actually make me consider running the 3 stage manifold with the ESS kit, purely because of the improved valve design.

Not to get too far off topic, but hasn't the ESS kit had some serious issues?

Yes, there have been two beta testers that are on the forum. Apparently now, Rhombus is seeing improvements to his kit, as it runs now without issue. He said ESS are now working on larger fuel injectors for the VT1+ kit. My prediction is that the supercharger (both VT! and VT1+) will be released late spring at the earliest. The early issues came about after Kisho's car was flashed with ESS software while AA software was already running, without it being reverted back to stock. That, and the fact there were early fitment issues. Those beta testers are brave!

ESS has a pretty good rep, so I'm happy to see it is getting sorted out.
Still would never be my course of action. As my car is currently set up, I have no desire for additional power.

I'm still on the fence Stig, your NA car is pushing what, 300 hp or something?

Yup, though more impressive in my opinion is the huge amount of torque(66+ ft/lbs) I picked up over stock. And you feel it.

Torque is what I'm most interested in. That's insane!

Yup, and to simplify, headers/DISA/tune are the only ones that really matter for power gains.

I think mid pipes will provide little gain(certainly not physically noticeable) in exchange for a car that will smell terrible and a chopped up exhaust track.

Right, and rasp.
I agree you get a faint smell with the secondaries, but its not enough to actually permeate the cabin in my experience. Quote:
Not sure what this question means.

What headers? I have zero rasp aside from a very specific situation. Car run to operating temp, then turned off and allowed to cool for a bit but not completely, there is rasp for the first 2-3 throttle overruns until warmed slightly. The period in which I can induce rasp is ~1 minute long after start.

However my exhaust is much different from Stig's. I'm running 2nd cats, resonator and no muffler. I'm sure Stig's is a bit more civilized primarily from the fact that he's running an actual exhaust. |
