Hi everyone

Just to share. I had experienced a 30FF fault (between 20-60km/h) after installing the below mods but before the flash. My mechanic did a pressure test and ended up replacing quite a number of parts including the wastegate, solenoid, manifold pressure sensor, turbo suction hose. He also found the diverter valves to be leaking and pending that replacement, the 30FF still kept appearing despite the other changes.

Anyway back to the thread title, I have recently flashed the stage 2+ map as well as the xhp flash and for some reason, the 30FF fault stopped appearing. Not sure why. In any case, servicing the diverter valves today and may flash back to stock to see if 30FF fault still appears and then will post the logs after.

Thanking everyone in advance.

Eh, your JB doing the logging makes it kind of uncommon for this thread. Best eyes will prob come from http://www.n54tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3

First stage 1+ log

Hi guys!

I finally managed to tune back to stage 1+ after changing the boost solenoids, vacuumlines and installing a chargepipe with bov.

Do you see any discrepancies in my log?

Thanks in advance!

eh, still doesn't look like I would think it should. Taken quite a bit of time to build boost. DCs are really high until much after what would be traditional spool.

I do have quite a lot of waste gate rattle and the turbo’s have some 182.000km’s on them.

I’m beginning to think I need a turbo replacement...

Unfortunately I do not...

Oil consumption is quite high lately, even before tuning to stage 1+.
6000km's ago an oil change was performed and now it's already half empty.

but, actually, .5 quart in ~3600m is not TOO bad.. Id say when you consumption over 1 qt in about 2K miles you probably are starting to get some oil in the chamber and it will increase the chance of detonation... so more timing will be getting pulled.

Okay thanks for the info!

There's also some light smoke coming from both exhausts when idling.
Not as much as in the link below, but the circumstances he describes seem to fit in with my smoke.

well, and the other thing to remember is on cars with Catletss DPs AND even no secondaries the oil use will be much more visible. Once the cats get up to prob 650 degrees (which doesn't take long) they keep oil from getting too visible probably.. They run at 800 easy during normal drives..

Could it be that the smoke is more present due to the fact that I coded out the cold start with MHD?

eh,, I can't say.. I dont know enough about what that does. I imagine its a fuel enrichment but might also do something with idle speed.

Pardon anything I say in this post that may sound ignorant. Completely new to the N54 platform and as well as the forum.

Experiencing lots of timing correction, and I feel like the car is sluggish. Bone stock car, as far as I know(Bought it used 6 months ago, everything looks stock..) I'm completely clueless what the log means as far as the health of the motor is but something seems off. Anyone care to help? Anything is appreciated.

6 new index 12 injectors 2k miles ago from FCPEuro
6 new eldor coils from FCPEuro
6 new REA8MCX spark plugs from O'Reillys gapped at .022(Only thing they could get their hands on.)

Stop putting 87 octane gas in your car

all kidding aside , if you were tuned id tell you that you need higher octane gas or plugs but you replaced those already...if you are putting 92 or 94 oct it really shouldnt do that unless its super old gas ...

Well, its relatively common for the DME to do all kinds of stuff (some less than performance focused) when it attempts to reduce load - especially on a stock map. It will close the throttle and back off timing at the same time. So for a stock map I would not try to read much into it.

It closed the throttle at timestamp 206.79 and thats when your retards kind of went up.. then it had another series of retards a few ses later. Both times you were right at load target or slightly above.

Go a head and load an S1 or S1+ and see what happens.

Haha, I wish. I'm in Oklahoma for work and all that's around is 91 octane "100% gas!" Seriously, these people hate ethanol.

I just read the timing corrections, did some googling and most people have little to no timing corrections. Had me worried.

I noticed the throttle closure, never understood why. DME doesn't let load actual go above load required? I'll try flashing a Stage 1 map and see how it goes.

Thanks for the input guys!

no, its the grand nanny overseeing everything. Its all about load targets/reqs and actual loads. You want there to be as little delta between the two as possible (when logged in OPTIMAL conditions).

JB4?

You would probably have better luck on n54tech.com
But I dont see anything obvious. Pretty good taper on the boost..I would think it could take more.
