Those clip-ons on the inverted tubes looks badass
I am much more fond of them over stock Thanks man!

The Interior is legit like new except for a small scratch on the rear side of the passenger seat and that's actually about it. The carpets are stain-free. But, the interior is black so I might rent a carpet cleaner from home depot and just clean it once in its lifetime
Mine had a few dings that the PDR guy made vanish like magic. That was the closest thing to the black arts I've witnessed in this lifetime, those guys are sorcerers.

I remember the pic of your seats when you said it had a wrinkle and I couldn't see it, yeah it's nice. I love my black interior, I have one of the mini carpet machines that wet vacs it, as long as you do it on a warm day and let it air out works great "BISSELL Little Green Portable Spot and Stain Cleaner"

I dig your sense of aesthetics, I can't picture a cleaner setup for that motor, can't wait to see the build come along. And I see you're doing it indoors, good choice work smarter not harder lol, plenty of time for jackstands outside if spring ever arrives this year.

I might have a PDR guy come to pull those dents out. I think the guy I called last time charges $50 per dent.

Thank you sir everything I do I try to do with class. It's usually not very graceful getting there but once it's there its not half bad. And yes, its a perfect place for it. Childhood bedroom already has plenty of stains from a careless small me so any added ones doesn't really matter. Its got heat and two windows on adjacent walls which make for good ventilation too

Next up: Retrofitting the R6 switches and horn to the original wiring harness as well as throttle/clutch cables.
I'm still undecided on replacing the R6 light switch for one off a GSXR, which has hazards (this 83' also came stock with hazards) and a flash to pass button that I thought would be a good addition. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't bother, flash to pass doesn't work in the NAR because people don't know they need to move over to let you pass. Hazards are good idea, perhaps fz1 handlebar switch would work if you shorten the harness?

They are solid cap cinder blocks should be ok as long as the floor under is even. They are pretty thick to I think 2 inches. The car sat on them like that for 3 months no issues. I was debating on putting a lift in that area in the mean time but not sure if the neighbors would be all that happy about that.

I was thinking about that. Seems like people just get mad that you're trying to pass them as they hog the left lane. I'll check that one out thanks

It doesn't matter if they get mad because if you're already in a lower gear in the midrange all you have to do is get on it and unless it's a faster car which there's a very low chance it is, you're getting in front.

I've had very good luck with flashing people out of the way before, it's almost like they know and are reminded of the fact that they're hogging traffic and the left lane. Also the typical BMW owner trait of showing half your car behind their driver side mirror so they see the angel eyes works great aswell ps: I wouldn't try this on a bike

That is if they decide to move over.. Most people in my town treat the left lane as the right lane but.. to turn left.

That BMW owner trait cracked me up, I do it solely to be a dick. Of course it's justified when they're either going below speed limit or hogging the left lane. Even worse when it's both lol

I plan to be much more cautious and defensive when I'm out riding, after noticing common sense isn't so common anymore it almost scares me to be out on the road at all. The amount of stupidity I witness daily at my job is outstanding.

Yes, would not flash the headlights on a bike, too many fruits and nuts which would take it personally.

Pulled the 3.73 final drive differential out of the parts car E90 and cleaned it up a bit, didn't know it has a label on top , although this might seem disgustingly dirty by Jake's standards.

Also pulled what's left of the exhaust after the PO cut out the secondary cats. Might modify this muffler internally as shown on some threads here but need a welder

Find yourself a friend who's profession is as a pipeliner. Cleanest welds ever. That was my case for my exhaust at least

That's just normal dirty, it needs rust to be disgustingly dirty

I couldn't bring myself to chop up my still-in-1-piece exhaust so I also got a already chopped used one to do that mod on, be interested to see what you come up with for the internals. I'm looking at that thread where some1 posted a cut open PE muffler, gonna try something like that but I have lots of projects in front of that yet.

Like the saying goes, better you don't watch the sausage being made. I know I make myself cringe often enough I'm glad nobody sees it, but like you say it's final results that count. Keep up the good work brother

I've picked up a lot of cheap parts on ebay by making lowball offers to sellers but this is a first. I offered $120 for a 3 stage intake that was listed for $150, the seller returned a counteroffer of $110. Huh? I'll take it tho

I want to modify my exhaust so bad but I just can't bring myself to do so. Car sounds so good with catless down pipe, But some times it's not the loud I need. As I get old the quite car is also nice. Maybe I'll just take out the secondary cats and see what that does for me. Embarrassing story I was dropping my kids off got out of the car to help my kindergartner and 4th grader in the drop off line snow on the ground and as I get back into the car my shoe slips off the brake pedal as I'm still getting in car revs up to 5k rpm and burble kicks in 🤦*♂️just got into the car like nothing happened. When my kindergartener gets in the car at pick up he knew it was my car and said you scared a bunch of kids and started laughing. I guess I'm that parent now. Hopefully no one knew where it came from !!

So later this week I will have my new wheels on but it's been a couple weeks since I've given 'er much attention 😕 so I've been sitting on my new roundels until my wheel situation got figured out. It's pretty nice out today so I managed to get my hood and trunk done, wheel centers will be done this week with the new wheels. What do you guys think? Excuse the glare and she needs a bath. BAD! That's next on the list today!

(Also it's florescent yellow, or "high viz") I work in construction as an equipment operator and it's my favorite color hahahah
