Was it cold? Plastic is much more likely to snap at this time of year. Sometimes I use a heat gun to gently warm stuff if it looks brittle.

Why does BMW never make it easy these days. There are two raised locating dowels around bolts between the head and valve cover, good idea to help keep the gasket in place during assembly. But why put one in the bottom corner of the engine where you can't see if it's seated? I think it's OK, if not we'll have a lovely oil leak and get to take it all apart again.

But the biggest joy, I moved the PCV hose to put it back into the valve cover and the whole thing came away in my hand. It's new, changed it all a few months ago. But clearly it wasn't clipped in right at the other end. I hope I don't have to take the intake manifold off again. If I do we're going catch can route this time.

No it was garaged, I think it was just it's time to die. The bead on the end of the cable pulled thru the plastic ferrule then the cable wound itself on to the reel until it jammed up inside. It seems the LR is the one that goes out because everyone stocks it but few have the RR, which is the same thing just a mirror image.

Make sure to seal the vapor barrier up well. I got my car cheap because it had a water leak into the carpets if it rained. Turned out someone changed a window regulator and never sealed up the vapor barrier well enough.

I hate that PCV. Absolute nightmare. +1 on catch can setup if I ever take off the manifold again

I got a tip in one of the vids I watched on it to cut the glue goo with a boxcutter like you're filleting a flounder, worked well and it stuck back on like it was never removed.

Listened to my e90post bros and sold my seat today. Your right it might not be legal to drive around with this seat anywhere. Also it be a pain to daily the seats with. Sold it to a engineering student that had a TURBO E30 With a SWAP! He has a E46 M3 LS swap also and this seat is going in there. May the car gods bless me for giving this dude the opportunity to make use of this part.

Picked up a radio for the E46 from the junkyard which happened to have no dead pixels at all! I had fucked up the old radio trying to change the screen to fix the dead pixels so this was a welcome find.

Also saw a guy who must be related to the one taking all BMW headlights lol, man had a whole wheelbarrow full of airbags

Usually like $5-10 to get in depending on the outfit. You can stay in there for as long as you want doing whatever you want really, just don't break windows or look like you are destroying stuff and they dgaf what you do.

Same thing happened to me! I got water on my floor mats after a car wash. I removed the two door panels and didn't replace the butyl seals but just pressed the foam liners into the door with much more force. No more leaks!!

However after reinstalling the door panels, the rear portion ory passenger door is just sitting slightly higher so the door lock isn't flush with the hole. The door lock knob is just slightly below! he top of the hole. Amy ideas how to fix this? Do I need new clips on the top of the panel? Nothing's broken and I tried bending the clips to adjust but no change.

Line it up properly use ur phone light to peek thru the gap before you line it up. Once u see all the tabs/clips in the corner lined up. And the ones inside to. Pound it in nicely. Check corners and the inner part also if its in.

+1

If the clips are bent it can be difficult to line them up. I replaced a few of mine when I fixed my leak because they just weren't clicking in like they were supposed to.

There's a row of metal clips along the top of the door that may be misaligned too. If the plastic rivets are misaligned and you force the door together they likely will just bend and break.

When I lived in Aberdeen I had access to two good pick and pull places, breakers we call them here. No I'm in the Highlands I have to get everything on ebay. Even Inverness doesn't have a good breaker I can wander round.

Years ago I bought used parts on German Ebay and sold them in the UK. I was spending £20k a year just on the shipping and doing pretty well but then it caught on and lots of other folk started competing. I could ship a set of wheels from Germany to Scotland for on £25, was doing so much I got great rates. Because they had a minimum tread depth of 3mm and it was only 1.6mm here wheels always had legal tyres. Used to get Alpina steering wheels, Hartge alloys, Schnitzer stuff, so many goodies.

Noticed no difference in stiffness; however, I did notice it is more quiet than the broken belly pan that it replaced. My belly pan was not that bad either, it was split in the center between the bumper and jack point opening, plus some of the plastic surrounding the jack point hole was missing (probably in the gulf stream by now on its way to the central Pacific). I really replaced it as environmently-consciousness act. Think globally act locally type thing...
